The Barnegat Bay boat parade today was so much smaller than organizers hoped. No world record today. But the traffic on the bridge going to LBI was bumper to bumper. I hope all the folks in those cars stopped to support our local LBI businesses. Do I support our Vets? Ofcourse! I come from a military family. My dad is buried at Arlington along with other family members. Defund the police? No. De-militarize the police & allow them to be police officers, not soldiers, because Americans are not the enemy. Why does Stafford need long range sniper rifles? Just because they were free military surplus? Better to bifurcate policing into two parts: unarmed, neighborhood police with armed response units as back up if needed like they do in the UK. Also, increase police training to at least two years like they do in the UK. We could avoid so much loss of life with a bifurcated system & more training. As for trump, if you’ve lived in the metro NY-NJ area, you know of his multiple business failures (6 bankruptcies & counting), trump casinos, trump university, trump airlines, trump steaks, trump wines, etc. He is mentally, emotionally & intellectually unfit to be president which makes him dangerous. He is the DSM-5 definition of a malignant narcissist & sociopath. He has multiple failed marriages, he has had intimate relationships with people like Roy Cohn, Jeffrey Epstein (child sexual predator & human trafficker) & the Kushner’s. He is unable to think critically in order to solve problems. He can only think transactionally & that means he is an existential threat to our beloved republic because he must be the winner & the person or entity across the table (eg., ex-wives) or our country (the House or the Senate) or an ally, must be the loser.
