Today, I’m signing an Executive Order officially clearing both our public and nonpublic pre-K through 12 schools and our colleges and universities to reopen for upcoming academic year.
As many of our colleges and universities have continued offering classes during the summer, in-person instruction may fully resume as long as social distancing and other protections are strictly adhered to.
Any student who chooses to continue remote learning must be accommodated.
Schools can’t even control a lice outbreak this oughta be a disaster..smh

It’s a neverending onion being peeled layer by layer. I don’t know what the “right” thing to do is, but the inconsistencies of this administration infuriates me to no end.

The reason he signed the executive order to open is because with the executive order to open it allows school districts to let go employees. With the executive order to close, the state mandates all contracts be paid. Now school systems have a way to furlough/fire staff.

Camps & daycares & childrens sports have been open. All run accordingly well with no Covid cases reported.
Schools are ESSENTIAL.
Our children had no education from March – June.
This can not continue.
Each child is different. Some do ok staying home, some do not. I’m worried about the social end for these kids. That’s part of school too! I think if the school has a good sound plan they need to go back! I also think the parent has a right to home school if they are not comfortable sending their child back.
Kids can return in fall but eff our small businesses. This dude makes no sense at all.
