Brick: Back in the good old days the plaza featured Cost Cutters and Blockbuster Video. Now those places are just memories to us. However times change, and there’s a need for more grocery stores in town. Lidl recently made their introduction to Ocean County last Fall in Lacey, and now they’re expanding again.
It was announced a while ago that Lidl planned to occupy the old Cost Cutters, and now construction is well underway. No exact timetable has been announced, but hopefully it goes quick as there’s a lot of work to do yet.
On the North side of town the new Corrados Market is being built in a portion of the old PathMark store. Both grocery stores are highly anticipated to open in town to give residents a choice for shopping. Most people dread fighting the traffic and aggravation at the Shop-Rite store in the center of town.
TR, follow!
Can’t wait for corrados.
Everything is always in Brick ???? we need more options in Toms River.
Toms River is the armpit of Ocean Cty ! ???? All they open up is liquor stores, Dunkin, and crappy fast food. We need a grocery store in /and or near downtown Toms River.
The old Foodtown is still empty…I’d settle for even an Acme in there. For some reason Grocery stores do their demographic research and don’t find TR a viable place to set up. ShopRite is always a mob-scene…so clearly there is enough competitive customer base. We will never see a Wegmans.
Alex Ligg I emailed Lidl’s real estate division and suggested the old Foodtown location and no response back from a couple of months ago.
Diana O McCrea you’re getting a Lidl in Brick!
Dina Raposo Costa cool
Lidl is cool…prefer Aldi…but it is a nice store. Better than Trader Joes.
What’s a Corrados?
