John Brogan, a controversial addiction specialist, was found dead of an overdose in a Philadelphia Hotel Room on Wednesday.

Philadelphia police said that a 42-year-old white man was found on the bathroom floor in a room at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Roosevelt Boulevard at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene by fire medics at 11:10 a.m., and his body was taken to the city Medical Examiner’s Office.

Philadelphia police labelled it a “sudden death.”

Jim Garrow, spokesman for the Philadelphia Health Department, identified the deceased as Brogan and said he died of an accidental drug overdose.
