Exactly!!!! I went to get my husband’s, with copay was over $100. He suffers everyday cause he quit taking it a couple years ago now, says we need a roof over our heads. But sure, let’s give out FREE narcan to those who CHOOSE to buy ILLEGAL drugs that kill them. Oh and his cardiac meds with copay were $450, and he gets $720 a month. And that is not medicaid either… But sure, let’s hand it out free. His grandkids love spending time with him

I just watched him suffer his 6th silent heart attack in February, an saw our two grandbabies crying thinking he was going to die in front of them. He is their world, they keep him going. Kim Tykot, I know addicts that have, so I can speak about it. And they are friends. I am the one who listened to them cry at night, and fighting the urge myself to drink from just listening to them. I quit cold turkey drinking, and some friends did drugs the same way. So, yes I can speak about it. I have been through hell an back in my life, I took to drinking very heavily. I quit when one of the crews I was working with almost killed someone. That could have been me, an I could have lost my children as a single mom. So I quit right then an there.

It’s kind of a strange thing to be mad or upset about administering free Narcan, which is used as a life SAVING measure. ???? Insulin, chemotherapy, etc are drugs used over time and some cases someone’s whole life. However, nobody should ever have to be in a situation where they need to pay enormous amounts of money for their medications or die. The taxpayers do not pay for Narcan, it is funded typically by grants or the hospital kicks in the funds to buy a lot of it that police officers and EMT’s carry to administer. Even the “free” Narcan was funded through a grant in order to be handed out to others at zero cost. I wish these people the best, I hope that in time they can recover and salvage their lives so needing Narcan isn’t a priority for them anymore.

As a type one diabetic and someone who has had several people in my life deal with addiction i know that both are medical conditions.
