Stafford: On Saturday 7/25/2020 at 3:47pm the Stafford Police Department was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Route 72 at milepost 26.4 with injuries. A 2012 Hyundai Sonata operated by Hunter L Dyer, 26 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ was traveling west on Route 72 when he crashed into a 2015 Lexus operated by Olga Asusky, 73 of Cedar Run, NJ. Dyer’s vehicle then crashed into the rear of a 1999 Lincoln Towncar operated by Kieth Kiernan, 41 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ.

The collision caused Kiernan’s vehicle to spin multiple times before becoming disabled in the right lane of Route 72. Kiernan’s vehicle had 3 other passengers on board, Russell Smith, 42 of Westfield, NJ; Angela Norton, 40 of Little Egg Harbor and a juvenile age 8.

Dyer’s vehicle continued off the roadway, across the pedestrian sidewalk, grass median and coming to its final rest in the middle of East Bay Avenue near the Mallard Island Yacht Club.

Kiernan and the juvenile were flown to Jersey Shore Trauma Center for treatment and are currently listed in stable condition. Dyer was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for minor treatment and released.

The causal factor of the collision at this point is excessive speeds however, additional investigation is underway by Patrolman Justin Pascale of the Traffic Safety Division. Any witnesses to this collision are asked to contact 609-597-1189 Ext 8436 or [email protected]
