On June 22, 2020, at approximately 6:00 am officers responded to Casino Pier (800 Ocean Terrace) in reference to a male subject that had climbed on top of a casino pier ride; upon officer’s arrival, they observed a male subject on top of the ride identified as the SKYSCRAPER. The male subject was identified as Chris Angulo, age 45, with no current address. Mr. Angulo connected an American flag onto the top of the ride. After several contacts with Mr. Angulo by phone, he advised that he wanted an attorney for a recent arrest within another jurisdiction, in addition to assistance with ongoing personal family matters. Chief Thomas Boyd arrived on scene and was able to speak to Mr. Angulo by phone, in turn, Mr. Angulo climbed down from the SKYSCRAPER, directly after his conversation with the Chief. Once Mr. Angulo was down onto the pier, he was placed under arrest by Ptl. Chris Linnell, transported to Seaside Heights Police Headquarters, where he was booked and processed for Defiant Trespass (2C:18–3B) and then transported to Community Medical Center for Evaluation.
