During a hearing today the NJ Turnpike Authority which operates both the Turnpike and Parkway voted to raise tolls effective September 13th.

The Garden State Parkway tolls will increase at barrier plazas to $1.90 from $1.50. Ramp tolls which normally were $0.50-$1.50 will go up to $0.65-$1.90. The Toms River toll which is collected in both directions will raise to $0.95 each way. Brick, Lakewood, Lacey & Berkeley ramp tolls will jump to $0.65.

Meanwhile the Turnpike will also see an increase across the board. It currently costs a vehicle $13.85 to travel the entire roadway. Once increased, it will cost $18.85 for a passenger vehicle.

Trucks will also see a hefty increase as they have been traditionally charged more than passenger vehicles.
