PRESS RELEASE-TOMS RIVER MAN CHARGED WITH NARCOTICS DISTRIBUTION
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced the culmination of a month-long multi-agency investigation into narcotics distribution in Ocean County. An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, United States Department of Homeland Security and Toms River Police Department Special Enforcement Team identified a residence in Toms River as being used to store and distribute quantities of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) and Anabolic Steroids.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at approximately 11:30 am, Detectives from Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Strike Force, along with members of the United States Department of Homeland Security, Toms River Special Enforcement Team, and Toms River Emergency Services Unit, executed a no-knock search warrant at the residence in Toms River. As a result of the investigation and the execution of the search warrant, police seized approximately 227 grams of LSD, a large amount of Anabolic Steroids, three handguns, a quantity of Marijuana, and approximately $2,000 in cash. Arrested at the residence were:
Daniel Elrose, 29, of Toms River, charged with Possession of LSD in a Quantity greater than 100 Milligrams with Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(6); Possession of LSD in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession of Anabolic Steroids in a Quantity greater than 100 Milligrams with Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(13); Possession of Anabolic Steroids in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1; and Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(4). Elrose was released on a summons pending a future court date.
Jeffrey Elrose, 26, of Toms River, charged with Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(4). Elrose was released on a summons pending a future court date.
Junaid Ali, 26, of Toms River, charged with Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(4). Ali was released on a summons pending a future court date.
Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, United States Department of Homeland Security, Toms River Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, Toms River Police Department K-9 Unit, and Toms River Police Department Emergency Services Unit for their collaborative efforts and assistance in this investigation.
