Friday May 8, 2020 – Manchester Woman Charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS

The Lakehurst Police Department charged Alyssa K. Jimenez, 20, of Manchester after a motor vehicle stop for speeding.

On Friday May 8, 2020, at approximately ‪3:28 PM‬, Officer Michael Cecchini was on patrol in the area of Union Avenue and Elm Street in Lakehurst, when he observed a 2016 Honda that was speeding in a residential area. Officer Cecchini initiated a motor vehicle stop and the driver was identified as Alyssa K. Jimenez. An on scene investigation was conducted and it was discovered that Jimenez was operating her motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license. Probable cause was developed and a search of the vehicle was conducted. The subsequent search yielded approximately 218 grams (7.7 ounces) of suspected Marijuana, a digital scale, $612 in U.S. currency and other drug paraphernalia. Officer Cecchini placed Jimenez under arrest and transported her to Lakehurst Police Headquarters.

At Police Headquarters, Jimenez was processed and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Over 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Alcohol by Underage Persons and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and issued a summons for these charges. Jimenez was also issued three motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Suspended, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Speeding. Jimenez was released as per bail reform, pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior Court. Both the vehicle and currency were seized, pending civil asset forfeiture proceedings.
