Due to the number of complaints received by residents the Pemberton Township Police Department has been actively investigating reports of quads and dirt bikes driving erratically in the streets throughout the Township.

On 05/01/2020 at 10:24pm, officers attempted to stop two quads and a dirt bike in the area of Margaret Street. The dirt bike and quads eluded officers and at one point the dirt bike struck one of the patrol vehicles causing damage. The officer was not injured. Officers were able to stop and take one person into custody off from one of the quads. Robert Velez, 36 years old of Browns Mills was charged with one count of violating 2C:29-2b Eluding Officer which is a 2nd Degree charge as well as numerous traffic violations. The investigation into identifying the other two subjects involved is on-going. If you are found to be operating a quad or dirt bike in violation of New Jersey State Statutes on a roadway you will be issued a traffic summons. If you run from us when we try to stop you we will investigate and if you’re identified you could face charges of Eluding which is up to a 2nd Degree charge.
