Toms River: At the Shop-Rite on Fischer a security guard is at the door limiting the amount of people allowed inside. While most stores have been doing this, it is part of the latest round of Governor Murphy’s Executive Order to limit the Coronavirus spread. Essential business that are still open to the public are required to limit the store occupancy to a fraction of the regular amount of people.
It should have been like this over 5 weeks ago … just saying
Daisygirl Oneil Exactly!!
Daisygirl Oneil 100%
Hopfully the Shop Rite on Rt 37 does that and make sure the customers have mask on. Wed it was crowded and there were alot without mask
Angela Dinice Peterson ..went today on Fischer..everyone had a mask on..well organized and security office only letting in small amounts of people..
Yes that SR is but the other one is a different owner. My grandson works at fischer blvd and he has mask and gloves. He said they r very strick
Angela Dinice Peterson the other one for sure should follow Fischer shop rite!! Fischer very organized even at check out..you wait 6 feet apart and they direct you what register to go to..
Wed eddie went right in no line and people in there no mask. Young couple going down aisles not a care in the world.
I just left ShopRite on route 37 they’re not doing anything about social distancing letting anybody and everybody in there it was disgusting
Tracy Sicola SR on 37 is a much bigger store
Tracy Sicola the store in 37 is literally twice the size of the one on Fischer
no excuse
Tracy Sicola it’s amazing that stores owned by Saker are money hungry.
Tracy Sicola The executive order is confusing as written so they probably think the rule is effective as of 8PM tonight. I thought the 8PM deadline only applied to stopping non-essential construction, but like I said, it’s not very clear.
The executive order says 50% of the capacity of the building. A building like Shop Rite on 37 probably has a capacity of at least 1000 meaning 500 people can still be allowed in.
As for not doing anything about social distancing, other than having signs literally everywhere, tape on the floor at integral parts marking 6′ from each other, and having announcements reminding people about social distancing, what exactly do you suggest they do? Physically shove people away from one another? Don’t be angry and blameful. Be reasonable.
Adam Walker i’m sorry but i just left shop rite on fisher and what a
difference I am sorry but the one on route 37 is white trash you can keep it never again
I’m not disagreeing with you, I’m just saying the problem is a combination of the written restriction not being enough and the owners not taking it upon themselves to do better.
But that’s all in regards to the amount of people. The store is doing phenomenal trying to help with distancing. Problematic customers who can’t follow instructions can’t be blamed on the store.
There’s faults and imperfections, but if you want your voice to be heard, it helps to know where you should be directing your frustrations.
Tracy Sicola I was there last week and they were counting and limiting people going in. Doesn’t make sense to me that they would stop that process. I had no complaints.
Wendy Hiller-Szymczak i don’t know why hopefully they will start again
Tracy Sicola Fischer Blvd owned by Perlmutter. Doesn’t have as much ready to go meals but So much better than 37
Diane Hamadyk agreed
They won’t start doing it again unless the law tells them to. It’s a Saker store. They don’t care enough about the people to do any more than they’re required.
Shoprite in Manchester started last week. Such a pleasure to shop with very few people in the store and nobody near you! Wish everyone did this at least a month ago!!
It’s about time…
Lowe’s should be doing this.
HeidiLynn Schlobohm I don’t know why people are going there either???
Deborah Strazza Stone work supplys?
Steven Michael Fowler It look like construction is also to cease. But I hear many people going there on a regular basis who aren’t contractors. We just need to take this more seriously and stop going places
Deborah Strazza Stone not all construction has ceased read what the governor said on individual housing as long as there are not too many workers there and they are maintaining their 6 feet apart they may continue to work
They all have to starting after tonight from Murphy
They’ve been doing this in the Lacey shoprite for like 2 weeks now.
Everyone bring your face covering
A lot of people are complaining that this Shop Rite isn’t limiting people.
Let’s take a minute to break down the facts and understand the real issue.
The executive order states that essential businesses must limit the number of people they allow in to 50% of the maximum operating capacity.
This is where things can be confusing for people. Maximum capacity is determined using a formula that calculates square footage. A larger retail establishment can easily have a maximum capacity of 1000+ people. 50% of that would be 500 customers which is still way too many people to have in a store at once. It’s a ridiculous standard for a time of an epidemic, but it’s a start. Now, here’s something that is often overlooked…
A lot of stores are taking it upon themselves to limit customers to a specific number that is actually often lower than that standard of 50%. This is a good thing. These are stores owned by people who care about people…
Now you’re left with establishments that will strictly adhere to the written limits of the executive order. Places that will do the math and figure out exactly how many people they can still legally allow in and will not take it upon themselves to do better for the community. These are the stores owned by people who care about money above all.
Look around and you’ll be able to determine which company is which and offer your support accordingly.
Do your research, and stay healthy. Peace, love and health to all.
Adam Walker Costco limit is 100 I think possibly less not more
Costco has been doing this for weeks. Also 1 line for register w/employee directing customers which register to go to. Everyone is 6 ft apart and shields and credit card machine sanitized after EVERY customer. Whole register sanitized every 15 min or so
Cant get in most places without a mask
Shop Rite Bayville and Lacey Walmart did this, left about an hour ago. No mask, no enter.
Home depot
Call 1-800-ShopRite and complain
Teresa Jasinski complain about what?
Eric Domingues ShopRite on 37 people on here are complaining about 2 many customers and no masks
OHH i didnt see that comment gotcha
The one in Lacey was backed up to the end of the strip mall by mattress firm. It didn’t take long at all to get in.
Why are people still shopping so much make a list get what you need come back 3 weeks later. Eat what’s in your house and freezer
Because it’s three weeks later, and we need more stuff!
Bette De I hear people posting if going from store to store. I know a person that goes shopping and orders out daily. ( no way everyone needs that much)
Deborah Strazza Stone maybe people couldn’t afford to stock up for 3 weeks? Maybe they are still out there working and can’t get to the store???
Hopefully all the essential stores follow this new order, some of the home improvement stores have only put tape on the floors, shield for the cashiers, but haven’t limited the amount of people allowed in the store .
Stop the BS
The shop rite on Fischer is on top of everything
This is getting Pathetic….And the panic over this FLU is getting real sad. Look at the stats people…..
