The impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the community of Brick has been felt by us all. Many of us know a friend, family member or co-worker who has been affected. The same holds true at ShopRite of Brick Township, where two members of our work family – the associates who provide essential services every day – has reported being diagnosed with a case of COVID-19. As soon as the individual alerted us, all store associates were notified.
We also immediately implemented the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended protocol to reduce the spread of the virus and implemented our own enhanced deep cleaning process including sanitizing all workspaces used by the associate and common areas.
The well-being of our customers and associates is our number one priority.
To protect our patrons and dedicated associates, we have proactively undertaken a series of enhancements to create the safest shopping environment possible.
These measures include:
-The installation of Plexiglas shields at every register, the pharmacy, and customer service counter.
-The designation of special registers for our elderly and immuno-compromised customers.
-Providing all associates with masks and gloves.
-The posting of social distancing reminders throughout the store.
-Utilizing the overhead messaging system to continually remind patrons to keep a safe distance from each other.
The store remains open and continues to follow all necessary guidelines as recommended by the CDC.
Grocery stores are an essential business and we’re proud of the amazing dedication our associates are demonstrating to our communities during this emergency. We’re grateful for their commitment to keeping our stores open and shelves stocked with essential products. While we are always pleased to have customers’ patronage, we’re especially thankful for their continued patience and support during this crisis.
The containment of the Coronavirus is a shared responsibility and we remind everyone:
-If you are sick, please refrain from coming to the store
-Cover your coughs and sneezes
-Wash your hands regularly and do not touch your face
-Practice social distancing, wherever possible

Great… I have a Shop Rite from home order to pick up there tomorrow.
Clean everything before it comes into your house. Then wash your hands.
Honestly even without a confirmed case you should be worried??? Like, it’s everywhere.
Prayers that they will be ok!

These employees are exposed to EVERYONE with no protection…prayers to them that they recover soon
I’m sure other people shopping had it and did not know. You have to be careful and go in as if everyone around you may have it. Use gloves mask, goggles and get what you need for 2-3 weeks and stay home. Prayers to all.

With all the HIPPA laws, how do they (stores and media) find out that employees have it?
Barbara Burgess-Frankowitz They cannot tell you who it is. They have to let employees know that they’ve been exposed and most stores are being upfront and honest and telling the public

It doesn’t help that people are leaving gloves and masks in carts and all over the parking lots. As fast as this spreads, you gotta wonder how long before grocery stores close.
