Nice……just what we need right now. Social distancing and mandatory home evacuations because of a DERPTY DERP digger. Smh……
I know before any construction they map out all the buried lines and mark them on the surface with spray paint. So how the hell do they still manage to hit the gas line?
Howard Frank because mark outs are wrong a lot of the time
Tom McDade Then what’s the point of doing them? Might as well draw smiley faces on the surface and hope for the best.
Howard Frank they give you an idea what’s buried and a general idea of the location. But you have to take in account human error also
Howard Frank im in the natural gas field back in the early days of running gas services there was no code of depth to run main or services I’ve seen them ran right underneath the black top my guess in this situation they where milling and hit a shallow service… it happens to the best of us and we are so cautious not to hit them…
Could have been mismarked not marked. Could have been digging for a leak and moved the earth around the pipe and it got worse.
Which company did this?
They have been working on that damn road there for a friggin month.
