Some New Jersey County Jail Inmates will start being released from jail as part of a way to try and curb the COVID-19 pandemic . State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal says some inmates who’s sentence is that of 1 year or less in county jail may be released as a way to help fight the spread of COVID-19 . Those inmates who are serving sentences for probation violations , municipal court sentences for crimes in 3rd & 4th degree , those who are serving time for disorderly conduct and similar offenses as well as possibly some dwi charges will be eligible .
