BRICK: Effective immediately, all play structures (playgrounds, swings, etc.) at Brick Township’s Municipal Parks will be closed. Township crews will be placing temporary fences around these structures. This measure is being done to protect the health and well-being of Brick Township’s residents.
Parks will remain open and available to residents for enjoyment for activities such as walks, jogs and enjoying fresh air.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding
So now kids really have an excuse to play video games all damn day
Scott A Barnes if that’s what your allowing them to do lol
Jess Mogavero well close parks and other points of interest… what else is there
Scott A Barnes umm lots . Don’t blame closing parks as an excuse for kids to play video games .. if your home with them come up with things to do don’t act like closing parks is making your child glued to a video game
Scott A Barnes everyone seems to be getting involved to create some alternatives!
Sara-Marie Lynch hey home made pizza is the best pizza. You control what’s on it
How about read a book? www. Libby. com
Adele Marie I’m with all this. Believe me. But in reality, I know a bunch of parents will use the internet and game systems as a babysitter
Scott A Barnes I would rather see them glued to their videogames that to have them watching their loved ones suffering with this virus. That’s for sure. 🙁
Adele Marie I am going to have mine out enjoying life not attached to a game console. Appreciating nature not high scores. Not living in fear, appreciate what is out there.
Scott A Barnes Social distancing though. We have enough cases in NJ.
Adele Marie ehh. They say practice social distancing but yet encourage going out for walks. So I’m going for walks
Scott A Barnes So ejoy the sunshine! ????
This is kinda bullshit. Don’t close outside stuff
My opinion. That overreacting
What should we be doing doctor?
Scott Thomas It my opinion am I not allowed to give one.
Christopher Gaffney where did I get I get offended? All I did was ask your medically trained opinion.
Scott Thomas I just got up. and your comment was the first thing I read. so I take back the offended comment
It’s just going to keep spreading as long as Walmart and other stores are packed with people everyday.
Well they tried to just close the equipment today but when kids decided to wreck the fencing and ignore it this seems to be their only choice. Watch your kids!!
So basically we have nothing for kids to do but sit in front of the tv and play video games all day. Good one New Jersey . Take away school socisltion now play grounds this is ridiculous
Michele Jesuele just because you can’t go to a public park doesn’t mean “theres nothing for kids to do but sit in front of the tv and play video games “ .. everyone with kids are in the same situation , it’s not easy but dont blame parks closing as to why kids are infront of the tv/video games .. if their parents are home with them then that is their choice as to why their doing it
Play games with your kids? Outside on your own property?
You still can go into your backyard or if you don’t have a backyard do things inside etc ????
Michele Jesuele it’s not being taken away for the rest of your lives have some compassion for people that will die from this in our community
Renee Lachapelle exactly . Or come up with anything other than letting your kid be glued to a screen .. parks close doesn’t mean end of the world for kids lol
Michele Jesuele well you could always have them plan their own funerals. That’s tons of fun.
Michele Jesuele why can’t they read a book? Complaining about kids during in front a TV is a parents fault, not the kids.
Sime of us have to work and can’t be home with them to do things with them. Shut the fuvk up
And all she means is. No school, no after school activities,. Barley can see their friends. This is horrible for the kids. Kids need socializing. And structure schedules. And to be like this for months is horrible. And most parents do work. I doubt the government is going to pay our Bill’s. So most important is keeping a roof over our kids head.
Kim Dufour Thank you
But you will survive. Its tough times but necessary. All you people that continue to act like nothing is wrong are killing others.
Michele Jesuele welcome.
Michele Jesuele I take my daughter for bike rides, walks, kick the ball around outside, play with sidewalk chalk in the driveway and so much more. The weather has been nice and their is plenty for kids to do besides a park. Social distancing is a temporary thing. Their is always more than video games to be done. We need to take this time and spend it with our family. We need to learn to have fun with out electronics. Tomorrow it is going to rain and we will be playing twister with an alphabet twist. We will all get through this and hopefully a little kinder, a little more patient, and closer to family.
Kimberley D Bucceroni That is very nice . I work full time and am Fortunate to be working right now. And my kids are older teens one drives they don’t want to play twister with mom
Michele Jesuele sorry my kids are young but age wouldn’t stop me from trying something fun to do as a family that is safe . Unfortunately or fortunately whichever way you want to look at it I had to stop working to take care of my sick child.
Sorry to hear that . Hope it gets better for you and your child
Kimberley D Bucceroni today we did gym class with go noodle. Ellen liked it.
Kylie Kim we went outside and rode bikes for gym today. I will have to try that tomorrow since it is supposed to rain
Maybe this is more serious than we want to beleive?
Good luck with closing the outdoors. Cities are seriously contemplating releasing prison inmates, good luck locking people up for being outside. Scumbags
#LibertyOrDeath
Jeff Rey This makes no sense to me. They are already in isolation why not just keep them there. Why would they release them, possibly sick already, into the general public?
Adele Marie it makes ZERO sense.
https://trib.al/EndGHaC
Jeff Rey ok that’s INSANE.

Kelly Ann this is absolutely true and EVERYONE SHOULD READ Your post. After President trumps address last Friday I had my cousin calling me from Ireland extremely worried and telling me we are not being made aware of the severity of the situation. In Italy people over 80 are left to die because they don’t have enough equipment. Now Spain and Ireland are getting hit. There are trailers arriving at our local hospitals to help handle the situation. Everyone needs to stay safe, watch out for and help your elderly family members and neighbors.
Marge Wells Anacker I been trying to get it out there so people stay home listen to her
Her name is cristina Higgins an american living in italy
Kelly Ann I agree. People actually think this is a hoax it’s not. I know my late mom would never have survived this.
The idiots saying its dumb , you’ll be the first ones crying when your infected. Pay attention
Jesus. Does anyone on this page know the difference between “your” and “you’re”??? How’s that homeschooling going to go?!
Maria Prouflis If that’s all you’re worried about you should quit Facebook
Bruce Beyer it just cracks me up when I see that and like the word “redikulus”. When did we become soooo busy that were were like “f*** spelling and grammar, I am just “gonna type how it sounds”?
You are right, in the scheme of things, it is not important. I just believe we present ourselves to the world through written word and should take 2 seconds to not sound like idiots.
Maria Prouflis A lot of it is text to speech and typing on tiny phones with a big fat finger
Bruce Beyer that definitely does pose a problem!
Maria Prouflis Is this a spelling contest. Who cares.
Maria Prouflis I think we know the difference but just type on our phones and use lazy texting habits. This is 2020 not 1920 sometimes we even say ur. It’s the new shorthand.
People also need a lesson on their, there, and they’re
Kelly Osterman LaFrance desperately!!!
a 5 year old was diagnosed today with it .it is very real
Patricia Donato this is the current number now. It changed that quickly.
They are doing it because people don’t seem to understand social distancing and neither do kids when they are playing with other kids. It’s not like anyone is going to be out there cleaning the equipment every day.
And ffs… what did people do back in the day when there wasn’t shit to do but listen to the radio?! Stop complaining and get creative.
Jeanette Maarleveld when I saw the park by my house filled with kids playing basketball I thought, why are their parents allowing this?
Jeanette- “back in the day” literally everything wasn’t illegal like it is today. Kids need to get out and play on playgrounds, play manhunt, play paintball, go dirt bike riding. Literally all of that is a no go right now.
Jeanette today there were 12 kids playing basketball. I called the police and they said it was recommended there was nothing they could do until after 8. I am shocked. NBA canceled their season and yet groups of kids were still out playing. ????????♀️
Hopefully they will be able to in a couple of months. For now they need to stay home and if they are bored, so be it. Parents need to protect their children
Jeanette Maarleveld so agree. I know of a few people who think kids in small groups r still ok…..ugh
Taralynn Lucchetti Ranaudo I’m pretty certain parents aren’t “allowing” it. Teenagers think they are invincible. My son is 19 and plays pretty much everyday. He didn’t go to our neighborhood park yesterday, but some of his idiot friends did. I found out later that he went to another one. Did I speak to him (well, actually yell) yep. But I really can’t follow him 24/7. They tell them to stay in, but yet he still has to go to Work at Walmart and stock up so people have things they need, so alot of them are getting a mixed message.
Karen Kachmar
So ridiculous……the comments complaining! This is uncharted territory, and the challenges of dealing with this pandemic are mounting. Schools, Broadway, Malls, are closed for a reason. Breaking the chain of infection. Social distancing and self quarintine are needed!
Please think of the greater good, especially those at risk. Sorry this is such an inconvenience for you, but I just saw a new report that Italy is considering a proposal to not treat victims over 80.
Not really sure why any parent in their right mind would take their kids to a park where there is playground equipment. You might as well allow them to lick shopping cart handles ????♀️
Thank god they fenced the playground equipment. There were still about 30 people playing basketball and breathing all over each other. So much for #flatteningthecurve
Taralynn Lucchetti Ranaudo and the skateboard park is still open there were a ton in there all day yesterday
Taralynn Lucchetti Ranaudo there about two dozen there right now. Just passed it
Matt Brady
Denise Alfano
Donna Scanniello-Clayton Some of our parks already have fencing and kids are climbing them while their parents stand there and watch. Mine does not have the fencing yet, I’m curious to see what happens when it does.
Good
Studies show can live in plastic for weeks
Amanda Fisher
Fucking stupid.
this whole this is blown way out of porportion for some ODD reason
Craig Ford is it?

Why don’t you ask Italy their opinion. Stay home!
Effective today in Waretown.
Wow
Just sayin
For some it will close!! For others nah!
Keep Lakewood in Lakewood stay out of our parks
Kids are still required to complete their gym time that they would have in school. Go outside and shoot hoops if they have a basketball net, play hop scotch in the driveway, jump rope, ride their bikes, skateboard! Let them still enjoy the fresh air out front or in the yard!
Sue Cafiero-Skow my kids got assignments for their gym classes.
Jennifer Schaller mine also. I still make them go outside for fresh air
Sue Cafiero-Skow same
It’s time parents learn how to be parents – and interact with their children!!!
I will love to see all these people saying this is a overreaction comments in a week when this turns into Italy or worse. This isn’t “just like the flu” right now the mortality rate is 6% and they are saying it will be around 3% as the normal. This is not like the flu! They are doing what they think is best in trying to control this and closing playgrounds is apart of it. There is plenty of things to do as a family without having a playground to go too
As of right now death to recovered rations is 9% to 91%.
Brianna N Ryan Tufaro this is so scary!!! ???? is this all age ranges?
Taylor Allen yes all ages around the world
Brianna N Ryan Tufaro ????????????
Taylor Allen they estimate it to be 3.4% which is higher then the flu. People need to do research before throwing the “it’s just the flu” around
They moved the hurricane fence to play basketball ball yesterday ????♀️
Thank God, now people might start to pay attention.
Maricela Cabrera ????
Bris Arreola ????????????
Ciara Marie
If people just stayed home….
It is sad that they have to put gates around. People should just follow restrictions and keep their kids safe.
So parks closed but Walmart can be packed with people help me understand this
Charles Collins walmart is essential for food and household items. A playground is just a luxury and the virus can stay on plastic for days.
Jennifer Schaller can it stay on plastic in Walmart?
