Looking for toilet paper, soap, or other essential items locally in stores? Better try again before you head out. We are getting widespread reports of stores in Ocean County and surrounding areas being sold out of the most basic of products. People are panicking and buying everything they can find. The story is the same at Walmart, BJ’s, Costco, Target, and anywhere else that normally carries routine items. Customers are facing long lines and limits on the most popular products at registers.
Hand Sanitizer and Face Masks have been sold out for weeks now, with shipments trickling into stores at random. Paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and water are surfacing in small quantities at stores, but they’re being rationed like during a war. The burning question we all want to know is- what are people doing with massive stockpiles of toilet paper?
All of this mad rush is bringing routine household goods to the resale market. Reports on Ebay and other online websites show people charging excessive prices for these items- especially hand sanitizer.
We here at OCSN are doing our best to continue the news for our fans. To take extra precautions, our staff washes our hands before we type a story- so rest assured.
Remember friends- Try not to panic or cause a panic. Stay calm and practice basic hygiene. Watch for official reports of Coronavirus from the CDC and other trusted news outlets. Send us your pictures of sold-out shelves and long store lines. We will share them on the website to keep everyone updated.
This is an empty shelf at a Walmart where toilet paper normally was stacked.

Bunch of fucking idiots that are making it hard for people that need basic necessities.
Drug dealers in Ocean County have suspended heroin sales and turned to hand sanitizer.
I work for Walmart and we are also out of Tp, paper towels cleaning supplies and almost all the progresso soups. I was lucky enough to get a bottle of Clorox cleaning spray that I use, not because of the virus but because I ran out.
Target in brick has nothing. Only a few cans of Lysol left, grabbed one for my boyfriends duty bag. This is getting crazy
Are they sold out of Narcan yet?
Brick Walmart
Brick Walmart
That costco line is all the way through the store!
as they are buying everything to stay safe from the virus the others who have nothing because the shelves are bare are now going to expose the clean people to the virus lol. People are idiots running through stores buying up everything possible instead of sharing
Thalia Vargas
Manahawkin Walmart 7:30 am this morning. Shit out of Luck on Toilet Tissue
Yeah I need hand sanitizer for work. I clean homes and offices. I use it every day. Can’t find any any where. I’m tired and can’t drive around looking any more. Hoping I’ll be ok without it. Ugh
Sarah Cioffi same here. If you can find rubbing alcohol and aloe gel you can make your own!
Carol Smith it’s not strong enough. Has to be 70% or higher.
Rubbing alcohol is only 50%
Sarah Cioffi my daughter got 90 % from a beauty store in Brick
Carol Smith wow! All I was able find was 50
I went and got Everclear liquor its 95%
Sarah Cioffi yeah everyone is catching on, she bought it a few days ago so I imagine it’s gone by now
Ridiculous. People are so asinine. Those stockpiling are selfish slobs. Ever think about the elder communities that live on a budget and can’t get to the store so easily? And when they finally do, there are no basic needs because all the assholes got there at the crack of dawn, fighting like idiots to grab everything off the shelves.
Courtney Valentine exactly.
Exactly!
What I can’t figure out…. don’t people NORMALLY buy these things on a regular basis? What the hell are they going to do with 250 rolls of toilet paper and 50 bars of soap??? For fks sake, leave some for somebody else!!!
Walmart old bridge.

Brandon Green they were fully stocked today with TP and water around 11:30am
I know… I work there. But as of 3pm, little over half of it is gone.
People started buying them as the other stores sold out.
Still have plenty of paper towels though
Coronavirus didn’t cause panic, the media did
And like Hurricane Sandy, will they return it when they don’t need it???
they shouldnt allow returns for these items if these people wanted to hoard they should be stuck with it!
Rose Grossweiler Wasowicz true. But believe me, people do it all the time.
Lol
Listen people. Towels work just as well. Buy food not tp.
How many times are you going to clean the surfaces of your house. If you’re not sick and you clean them all that’s the end of it
You can bring it in to your home from anything you touch outside. It stays ‘active’ on surfaces for at least 4-6 days.
Lori Rose DiMaiolo I have read three hours to three days depending on temperature and humidity
Bunch of scared rabbits. ????
sheep
I’m so angry at the price gouging on marketplace. Be sure to message everyone about them being royal douchebags when we should be caring for each other.
We are supposed to be avoiding people lol I just want to walk in the store and just let a sneeze go in the air no covering nothing and watch the riot.
Start coughing and watch how quick the line disappears!
This is just ridiculous and media driven panic . Enough already.
Should’ve bought stock in toilet paper ????
Ri-Fucking-Diclulous…..How much toilet paper do people need for fucks sake? LOL
Well if u want to get infected just go there everyone else is here right now
Shop rite
Jeff Stephens
Marissa Berndt yes tp will save all your lives. Lol
What a bunch of assholes
In guessing in a few weeks all of these items will be returned. Just like Snow blowers and generators.
Once the scare is over the stores should refuse returns.
Ridiculous! Have some class people. But one and save the rest for others that need them too. People are so selfish
more like pure greed!! we should be trying to help each other during this
Walmart in Lacey yesterday. Only thing left was 4 little packages of cheap 1 ply. I’m not the desperate for potty paper yet lol.
I wonder if all these people commenting are the same that said Sandy would never hit us and had nothing then too. I’d rather be over prepared then unprepared
Humans are disgusting fucking puppets.
Go to Home Depot
Russ Dee thats where I got my TP
Costco today in Brick
Joey Gonnello

Nope, went to a supermarket today and I asked the staff about shortages and the only thing they didn’t have was hand sanitizer
I have 8 rolls of TP left from my restock package last month. If I run out and there is none left to buy I’m going to be unhappy. I guess there’s always wash cloths…in desperate times. And hot water wash!
Diarrhea isn’t even one of the symptoms ????♀️.
It’s a respiratory virus…not c-diff ????

Nichole Astegher exactly we are exposed to this crap everyday( I work in healthcare too)
I think they should make a “No Returns” policy on these items. People might buy less if they don’t think “hey, I could always just return it”.
These ppl know that they have showers at home??
It’s ridiculous!
Eh. Let people alone.
Do your thing and let others do yours.
Last night at Shop rite Tom’s River…luckily only a small amount of people in store….go late to avoid crowds…
Ya’ll are gonna feel real stupid when you realize the rona is just a common cold, but do you.

Diane Araneo they have been for days, was there Sunday and yesterday the shelves were empty
It’s almost funny. Panic over coronavirus. Yet hundreds of people crammed into Costco to buy water, toilet paper and paper towels….
My son works for Costco. He said people are nuts.
Gosh, this is worse then a snowstorm. I bet some of them are selling these items for more $$$ on E-Bay.
Lucille Piserchia and they’re being reported and deleted by eBay. I saw a 2 oz hand sanitizer listed for $36. It’s normally a buck or so. I went to click on it to read the ridiculousness and eBay already deleted it for price gauging. I’m glad they’re on top of things.
Holly Sullivan thanks for the info. I’m glad to that they are putting a stop to it.
Manahawkin Home Depot has toilet paper. Bjs and Walmart were out.
Rice, soup, canned beans, oatmeal, toilet paper, tissues, water, hand soap, disinfecting wipes. You’ll be lucky if you get your hands on any of this stuff!
Not you guys but the media is causing all this because they are not reporting about the people that have recovered
This is just ridiculous. I do my regular shopping on Saturday and I’m worried there will be nothing left. Stop hoarding!
Pure stupidity
And that’s exactly what they wanted us to do PANIC
CNN for one should be ashamed of themselves for spreading mass hysteria.
Did my monthly shopping on Monday. ????♀️
Thanks to all the hoarders cause now my baby that really needs wipes cant get any or the fact that you don’t need 13000 cans of Lysol for one fucking household ????????

Ed Gonglefski no they will be there to buy more
Andrew Michael hopefully not
I always found it amusing that my parents always stayed extremely well stocked with wipe, paper towels & tissues. When it was on sale they would get it whether we needed it or not. Apparently it’s genetic! If my friends need, they will get!
Stupid.
Target TR….clorox isle!
Shooter’s is out of ammo. While everyone was buying toilet paper, my friends and I bought 72 pallets of ammo.

Ridiculous ????
Overreacting! Making everyone crazy. Why not sit home and pull the 2 ply toilet paper apart.
You people aré going to catch the corona virus by gathering in the stores taking basic needs in bundles!!
Dam I just bought bread and milk..????????
I bought 2, 6 packs of Poland Spring water at ShopRite and paid $6.00 for each, and sadly, I was grateful to find them. There were only about 3, 6 packs left. This is insane.
Pamela Leigh Wesnitzer walgreens had plenty of water. Lowes had bleach.
In case you run out of toilet paper selling baggies of leftover leaves, bring your own baggies and cash only
To help the spread of the corona virus, the people around you have to be clean too not just you, your part of the problem if your taking 4-6 bottles of soap/sanitizers and 4-6 12 packs of toilet paper, there needs to be a limit on these things
Rosario Cannizzaro Jr. Exactly!
