Toms River: Since the summer there has been construction on the old Sabrett Hot Dog building on NJ 37 near the corner of Coolidge. The building was gutted, and a new facade was put on the exterior. Months of speculation have brought us all to assume it was a new liquor store, but the signs officially went up today.
EZ Beer, Wine & Liquors had staff stocking the shelves today, and the parking lot was filled with people getting the store ready. By the looks of things, they should be ready to open in two to three weeks. Of course liquor stores need a whole different set of permits and inspections which may delay the opening. As we hear more, we will keep all our liquor-loving fans updated!
Finally, somewhere to buy liquor in TR!
Everyone NEEDS their Booze!
There’s monahans on toms river
Melanie Virga owned by the same people, spirits
Yes I work at spirits too in ortley
Teena Spins O’Connell
Brian O’Connell you called it!

Rob Reese III Frank Romano
Giulia Reese this is fantastic!
Rob Reese III the other one close?
That’s what I don’t know
Yes they closed
Jim Backstrom nice and close
Eric Martin we heard it was going to be another “Spot”. I was hoping for an eatery.
Just what tr needs a other liquor store. At least its right across from the section 8 druggie motel and trailer park…
Michele Scivoletti Andrews lol
Michele Scivoletti Andrews and what have you done for society to judge like that? Section 8 is not a bad thing and I bet there’s more dope in your neighborhood than in the section 8 druggie area. I dont understand why you believe for a second you are better for any reason, you are not
Don Adelman WTF did you just say?????
Don Adelman what?
Michele Scivoletti Andrews literacy, it’s a thing even amid g clown folk that believe they’re special
When did that sabrett close
Frank Marro
Easily 10+ years ago
Ocean County Scanner News that’s what I thought…
Ocean County Scanner News more like 20+ years ago
Ali Russo Matt Zignauskas
Shoulda been a dispensary
Cause there aren’t enough in ocean county ????♀️????
Are they closing the other location down by 166? Or do we just get 2 EZ Liquors now?
Tim Beaton I believe they’ve been closed now for a few months
Mike Murray oh I hadn’t noticed. Live down the other end of 37 so never go there. Thanks
Everyone is usually going by that spot pretty fast to notice ???? me included
Tim Beaton yes
Tim Beaton closing the old one
But heaven forbid we get s medical marijuana dispo. Plenty of drunks are fine apparently. If there was karma all the dui’s will crash into all the community planners that allowed more liquor and no weed
Emily Covella my goodness!
Why are people angry at a new liquor store opening?
Scott Therrien because the degenerate that live in Toms River don’t need more places to buy alcohol what is really needed is a medical marijuana dispensary but the alcoholics don’t like that
Scott Therrien well alcohol is worse than heroin, buttt it’s just legal…
Because there’s already one on every other corner.
Another liquor store in NJ?? Damn what a shock, guess all them opiate addicts dont need places to get help huh? Geez if people were so into opening up places where addicts can get help like they are about opening liquor stores then NJ would be combating the opiate crisis better than anyone else
There’s no liquor store on the west bound side of 37. Listen I will gladly take this over CVS, Walgreens, vape shop etc
Gina Marullo so the poor alcoholic has to make a couple of u-turns shame on Toms River and shame on everyone who voted against medical marijuana dispensaries but are for this
And they don’t want a dispensary, what a fucking joke
Daniel Kessel beat me to it
Daniel Kessel seriously. WTF.
Right next to the piggy bank that fucking thief
At least it’s not another Jersey Mikes.
Wait isn’t it only moving from one spot to another ! Or is it a new second ez liquors ?
Frank Cavalieri closing the old one
Michael Chiusano ok it’s only moving to a new location ! The way it was worded sounded like another brand new liquor store was opening. Cool good for them !
Frank Cavalieri I worked part time for 10 years there, then left right before it was sold to spirits
Perfect for all the ghetto hotels right next door!
Gina Polizzotto at least they can walk there! How much do you want to bet there will be an increase of “pedestrians being struck by cars” this summer ????????♀️
The old Sabretts building, I have been wondering what it was going to be. I noticed an Ice machine in the front.
Maddie Yockachonis
But no dispensary. What a waste
Gerard Cardinale
Do they keep adding more liquor stores cause the alcoholics are running out of booze? Like seriously it’s such bullshit theres liquor stores on almost every corner but Toms River refuses to get a dispensary for people who are sick and dying and need meds. Ridiculous!
Samantha Dixon not adding a liquor store, moving from one location to another
Joe Neswick Jr so what, they are all over Toms River as well as bars and no dispensaries local for people who can barely do the drive to the ones an hour or more away. Its ridiculous
Was just going to comment the same thing.
Dispensary its very much needed.
Over an hr away to drive to Secaucus. They offer a measly 10% off if you live an hr+ away.
Sharon Lynn Huber I go to bellmwar or egg harbor cause its soooooo much cheaper and so many better deals but it’s still over an hour away. I went to secaucus and will never go again cause that shit is soooooo expensive even for just shake. Its insanity
Just what we need, another liquor store. ????
EZ is expensive. Only plus is they are open late on weekends.
Rob Vieten not anymore this ain’t the old EZ
Just what we need…
Don’t let no one fool you this is owned by Spirits that now has a monopoly on liquor from Walmart on 37 to fisher Blvd they also own Monihans. Expect prices to high with no competition
Michael Chiusano the Donofrio family used to own all of the Spirits, EZ was family owned until the sold last year
Jennifer Martinez I know I worked there 10 years
Jennifer Martinez they still own all the spirits
Michael Chiusano where, EZ or Spirits?
EZ
Free enterprise people, you think just because a new store opens all the sudden people will drink more ? Also you do not need to be an alcoholic to need a liquor store JS.
I really can’t understand some of these comments
Looks like a lot of thought and creativity was put into the signage.
Oh great a no name liquor store. That’ll really classy up that part of town ????
Vicki Tartas look up and see who owns it!! Same as all the others
Vicki so true!!
Just what we need in this neighborhood, with all the drugs & low life people from the hotels & now they can walk to the liquor store !!!
Not everyone in a motel is an addict.
Cat Hea most people in the area she is talking about sure are
Jacqueline DeCaro I’m not saying all are but I live in the neighborhood & see what kind of people are all around down this way ! I’m not judging anyone my point was just I feel it was not the best thing to put in the building .
Mary Batot- Degnan Actually yes, yes you were judging people by calling people you don’t even know “low lifes”. You don’t know what struggle any of them are going through.
Yes more booze. Just what we need here. Just in time for the bennies to get plastered and pee on our lawns. ????
That’s always what we need another liquor store or another gas station or another bank because we don’t have enough of them around SMH
I was told today that they open tomorrow
Lori McClane why is everyone so mad another another liquor store. The people complaining probably drink the most.
Jenny Minerva yup!
Seaside has its bars and t.r. has its liquor stores.
You bunch of fkn drunks.
Opening more liquor stores….but closing bars!
Kris Davis
It should help thin out the herd in the Monaghan’s parking lot.. I was thinking a strip club with no windows until I saw the ice machine the other day..
Shocked that people would rather have a vacant building and blight over a newly renovated store that will generate increased property taxes. Unreal
There are 3 liquor stores on rt 37 from the parkway to the bridge. Not sure that counts as every corner?
Wonderful, it’s about time we get another liquor store we can also use a few more auto parts stores next to a dollar palace. Drink up America.
Hey just more easy to find broken skull ipa
Why in the hell does Toms River need another liquor store ??? Just like another drug store ???
Keep em liquored. .easier to handle.. And money maker..
As long as the Hall’s live in TR there will never be enough liqour stores
I’m glad they finally put something there rather than an abandoned building that was just decaying
They fixed up the store and parking lot real nice. No matter what is is it’s definitely an improvement.
Kara Ann Scott says it’s a bar also ..
Just what we need. I thought it was suppose to be a steak house. We need more restaurants not liquior stores. ????????
Can never have enough of these
I have to make a 2.5-3 hour round trip to get medical marijuana because wholesome Toms River didn’t want a dispensary. Yet another liquor store. Just want we need.
Just keep filling up the hospital with patients with pancreatitis and cirrhosis ????
Just what that area needs…. ugh
Joan Miller Strich this Max’s?
Haylee Roenisch yes
Hope they’ll sell scratchoffs
Oh wow! Something this town desperately needed. Toms River and the surrounding areas are a fucking joke. Keep people fat, drunk, and dumb. Toms rivers motto.
Priorities.
Cuz we need any more liquor stores smh
But let’s not legalize weed.
It’s not “another” liquor store. They just moved to a better locations. Everybody is complaining, yet when Friday hits I bet you’ll so be out getting your drink on ???? Tom’s River a town full of hypocrites
Jessica Lynn not all of us live to “get our drink on”. Some of us adults actually desire a store offering something other than liquor…which by the way makes it EXACTLY just “another” liquor store. And it’s Toms River…not Tom’s.
I don’t see why people are complaining about a new liquor store. I work for a liquor distributor. Not a new store just a different location.
Josh, right? No one researches or reads. Just read headline and complain.
Kim Beejack very true
