On 02/18/2020 at approximately 6:45 pm, members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the area of Cedar Bridge Avenue and Rt 70 when they observed a vehicle commit several motor vehicle violations. The vehicle was stopped by K-9 officer Scott Smith and his K-9 partner Echo. The vehicle was found to be operated by Jeanette Taylor 34 yrs. of age from Lakewood who was accompanied by a passenger, later identified as Malique Medler 24 yrs. of age from South Toms River. A sniff by K-9 Echo was conducted during which Echo provided a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. Both occupants were subsequently found to be in the possession of approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine and marijuana.

Taylor was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain Lane, CDS in Motor Vehicle and having an Open Container of Alcohol. Taylor was processed and released on a summons.

Medler was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Medler was also found to have a no bail warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. Medler was transported to and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

On 2/19/2020 at approximately 9:15 pm members of the Street Crimes Unit while conducting a check of the Pleasure Zone Adult bookstore located at 235 Chambers Bridge Rd. observed a male in the parking lot exit his vehicle with his genitals exposed and approach another occupied vehicle. The male later identified as 42 year old Omar Aragon Mendoza of Lakewood began to urinate and after doing so continued to expose his genitals. Mendoza was confronted by the officers at which time Mendoza attempted to discard CDS. Mendoza was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Lewdness.
Mendoza was released on a summons.
