Remember the couple who went on a date stealing the night of Valentine’s Day?

Last Friday night into early Saturday morning, a male and female spend the night entering vehicles in the Toscana development located off of Fort Plains Road (behind Home Depot).
On Tuesday, 35 year-old Howell resident Jomaira Rios was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and theft by acting as a look-out for her boyfriend. She voluntarily turned herself in after being identified and contacted by Howell detectives. She was released on criminal summonses.

This morning, 26 year-old Howell resident Jose Lopez-Perez was arrested after our detectives tracked him to a Dunkin Donuts in Freehold. He was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with multiple counts of attempted burglary, burglary and theft. After processing he was committed to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Items linking him to the thefts were recovered in an abandoned house on Rt.9 just north of Home Depot.

Great job by our residents and our officers working together to bring another investigation to a successful conclusion.
