Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that George LaRosa, 50, of Barnegat, was sentenced today by the Honorable Michael T. Collins, J.S.C., to three years New Jersey State Prison as a result of his previously entered guilty plea to Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:20-9. Additionally, Judge Collins ordered that LaRosa pay restitution to his victims totaling $456,650. LaRosa pled guilty to this charge on September 16, 2019.
Following Superstorm Sandy, LaRosa — the owner/operator of GL Construction — entered into contracts with nineteen homeowners throughout Stafford Township, Lacey Township, Toms River Township, Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom, and Little Egg Harbor, to repair their homes that had been ravaged by the storm. These contracts were entered into between February 2014 and June 2015. Rather than making the contractually agreed-upon repairs, LaRosa converted the vast majority of the monies paid to him by the homeowners to his own personal use, closed his business, and abandoned the homeowners in various stages of disrepair.
Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the fine work of Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Heisler who handled the case on behalf of the State, and extends his gratitude to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Unit, Stafford Township Police Department, Lacey Township Police Department, Toms River Township Police Department, Long Beach Township Police Department, Ship Bottom Police Department, and Little Egg Harbor Police Department for their diligent and collaborative efforts in bringing LaRosa to justice.
Yet we still dont see the post for the RISE UP OCEAN COUNTY FOUNDER who Again pled guilty of fraud and is serving 60 days and 2 years probation? Why isn’t that here with other arrest and convictions?

The founder of Rise up ocean county pled guilty and was convicted a 2nd time of fraud and writing large bad checks.. He is doing 60 days in jail and has 2 years probation. Yet that not posted here. In pm they said they knew.. But no post. Now I am not for or against that site. But.. If you are gonna dedicate your page to calling out frauds while you ARE scamming and frauding people then.. Well..

Your so concerned about letting people know the founder of rise up ocean county plead guilty to fraud. Is that your only concern with this county? Don’t worry I’m 5 years you won’t live here anymore either , because our corrupt officials are letting the Hasidic community take over and do whatever they want. But by all means , sit there and worry about a site that was bringing awareness about the corruption
So he took the money. closed his business, and is going to prison, How is that going to get him to pay back the money he stole? Maybe putting him in a work-release program and him working for Habit for Humanity he could pay the 500 grand he owes us. Just a thought.
