To the surprise of nobody, even more Sears and Kmarts are closing for good. Transform Holdco is the parent name which owns both Sears and Kmart stores. Ever since the merger over a decade ago the stores have been on a steady decline. After March, there will be no more of a presence on the Jersey Shore.
The following Sears stores will be closing by March; Freehold Raceway Mall, Moorestown Mall, and Woodbridge Center.
The last Kmart on NJ 36 in West Long Branch will also be closing by March.
After this last round of store closures, there will be under 200 stores left. Amazing how these once two great American retail icons have fallen due to poor management and lack of investment by corporate.
Let’s see. Kmart was good until Walmart gave them competition and undercut their prices, and opened up stores directly across the street. Then Sears made the mistake of buying it. Now Amazon is killing Walmart, which is in steady decline…
Billie which doesn’t make sense because Amazon is so expensive and marks items up average 30% more. People are over paying because their lazy.
Just wait till they’re all gone and Amazon has you donating organs to buy stuff…
