Two people were arrested on charges they trafficked a 14-year-old girl for sex, including bringing her to a retired state corrections officer’s home, who was also charged in the case, authorities announced Thursday.

The state Attorney General’s Office (AG) announced the arrests of Tiffany Davis, 39, of Egg Harbor Township, Derrick Ross, 26 of Atlantic City and the retired officer, Kurt Young, 52, of South Dennis Township.

Davis and Ross are both charged with human trafficking and promoting prostitution of a child under 18, both first-degree offenses. They also face a charge of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Young is charged with sexual assault of a child under 16 and engaging in prostitution with a minor, both second-degree offenses.

In November, Davis and Ross posted ads of the girl online and trafficked her in Atlantic City and in other parts of South Jersey, the AG’s statement said.

A detective with the New Jersey State Police’s Casino Gaming Bureau responded to an escort ad by phone and arranged to meet with the girl at a casino hotel in Atlantic City. The girl was recovered and referred to support services after meeting the detective on Nov. 27, 2019.

Ross was arrested that day. Davis was arrested Jan. 17, 2020.

Davis and Ross allegedly split the proceeds from trafficking the 14-year-old girl.

On Tuesday, investigators arrested Young, a retired state corrections officer. He paid Davis to bring the teen girl to his home for sex, authorities said.

If convicted on the first-degree human trafficking charge, Davis and Ross could face 20 years to life in prison. The penalty for other first-degree charges is 10 to 20 years. A conviction on the second-degree charges carries a penalty of 5 to 10 years in prison.
