On Thursday January 23, 2020 at approximately 1:00 PM police units were dispatched to a report of a bank robbery at the First Financial Federal Credit Union which is located at the intersections of Routes 9 and 571. The male suspect presented a note to the teller and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
On Saturday January 25, 2020 police arrested Michael Bennett, 31 of Toms River, and transported him to the Toms River Municipal Jail for processing without incident. Mr. Bennett was charged with Robbery and is lodged in the county jail pending a bail hearing in Ocean County Superior Court.
