PRESS RELEASE-BRICK MAN INDICTED ON FIVE COUNTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Quintin Alec-Manning, 31, of Brick, was indicted on January 22, 2020 on five counts of Animal Cruelty in violation of N.J.S.A. 4:22-17c(1).

On May 29, 2019, the Toms River Township Police Department were notified that a motor vehicle deliberately struck a family of five geese, causing their death in the parking lot of the Indian Head Plaza in Toms River. A subsequent investigation by the Toms River Police Department identified Alec-Manning as the individual who slayed the geese with his car. On May 30, 2019, Manning was arrested, charged, and released on a summons.

Prosecutor Billhimer would like to acknowledge the good old-fashioned police work of the Toms River Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit for their combined efforts in swiftly solving this heinous crime.

The public and media are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
