A recent statement by MONOC distributed to employees indicates they’re dissolving the EMS service. The letter indicates that their service areas will be handled by existing ambulance companies. A timeline wasn’t given at press time, but many reasons are given for the difficult decision to be made.

This is happening all over the country! Insurance companies dont pay as much for ems service like they use to. Also these services are abused as a free taxi to hospitals for some. Another is that insurance companies send insurance reimbursements to the patient who is supposed to forward it to the ems service, but keep those funds for themselves

We needed EMS once and the local First Aid didn’t respond to the call. Monoc responded first before a neighboring town’s First Aid. Monoc will be missed

Jordan Reid same they responded to my home before the town ambulance did. They took my blood pressure nothing more and I was sent a bill for $2500. Ambulance chasers as far as I’m concerned. My opinion of them
