Narcotics Investigation Conclusion

On Thursday December 5, 2019, Jackson Police Detectives and officers who are in the process of forming a Special Enforcement Unit within the Detective Bureau concluded an ongoing narcotics investigation and conducted a stop of a 2011 Infiniti SUV and its two occupants in the parking lot of the Shop Rite located on North County Line Road.

The investigation resulted in a search of the male and female occupants and the vehicle which led to the recovery of THC vape cartridges, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, prescription medication and heroin along with hypodermic syringes and other paraphernalia and in excess of $400 cash.

Arrested:

Michelle Karcher, age 39 of Jackson. She was charged with: hindering apprehension for providing a false name to officers, possession of THC vape cartridges, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance while operating a motor vehicle. There were also multiple outstanding warrants for her arrest.

Michael Centofanti, age 33 of Jackson. He was charged with: possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), possession of Suboxone tablets, possession of Suboxone strips, possession of Clonazepan, possession of THC vape cartridges and possession of hypodermic syringes. There were also multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Both were processed and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail. The vehicle was seized pending application for forfeiture.
