A Brooklyn teacher may be getting a lump of coal in their stocking this year for Christmas.
Parents at a Park Slope school were upset after their children came home crying Monday because their substitute teacher told them some unsettling news.
“It’s three weeks before Christmas,” One mother told News 12. “These kids are 6 years old.”

She said she knows each family believes different things: “It’s what makes New York City great. There’s still this magic of childhood.”
The principal of P.S. 321 said she was “extremely upset” to hear about the substitute teacher telling kids that Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy aren’t real during a lesson about “convincing.”
The act landed the teacher on the naughty list, according to the principal.
“I guarantee you that this substitute will not be in class 1-216 again,” She said in a letter to parents. “We take this very seriously.”

Amy Smith some Parents don’t see Santa as a lie they tell their children, they see it as part of the fantasy of childhood of whimsical and magical time all in good fun thats all. Nothing wrong with a little fun in my own opinion its not hurting anyone.
I remember finding out Santa wasn’t real. I decided not to lie to my kids. We had wonderful Christmas’. We celebrated the birth of Jesus and had all the traditional Christmas things just no mythical characters. No Easter Bunny either. I did do tooth fairy for a bit with them. It’s all in what you want to teach your kids I guess. Teacher shouldn’t have said anything. I told my kids not to say anything to the kids that believed

Their dad “tried” to but when they would ask me my answer was always the same “he’s real if you want him to be” and then I’d explain what Christmas truly is about. My parents never told me about Santa and I wasn’t deprived of anything. I was just as excited as any other kid for Christmas morning.
