Omg..so sad. …
How terrible.
Move over
Mike Merola you can’t move over if you don’t see the car . Guy was disabled in the lane of traffic. Probably no lights on
Steven King love Facebook lawyer’s
Hey Mike – just wanted to let you know you’re a typical piece of south jersey, 4th generation, incest trash.
how do you know he was in a lane of traffic? No where in the short article does it say he was in a lane of traffic. He was probably on the shoulder. I see it all the time people don’t move over or slow down. Prayers to the family.
Heather Farquharson he was sideways in the lane. He spun out…..was not a disabled vehicle… this article is awful.
So sad ????to family n loved ones
Michael McNulty
Why can’t the a-holes just kill themselves on the road , instead of others
Very sad. ????????
My bet is that speed and or alcohol was involved , it’s always the case , I’ve responded to enough of these where it’s always the innocent ones whose lives are lost .
Being disabled in your car is not safe with the way these people drive. I would sit in the woods or grassy hill even in the pouring rain. I have grown to hate being on the parkway.
Prayers for the deceased and the family.
Janie Vassallo SanGiacomo
I agree! I’ve learned when you break down, get out your car and sit far away until help comes.
Janie Vassallo SanGiacomo the other driver may have suffered from the wet roads. It happens. Sad for both sudes
I feel the same way. I dread driving the parkway mostly because of the speeders weaving in and out, no blinkers to switch lanes and care about no one. Maybe enough speeding tickets will slow them down. You are correct would rather sit in the woods especially when dark then be on shoulder of road. Sorry for this man’s family.
Another non move overererere
Thats so sad…
So sad…
People have to move over please
I never understood this… in Colorado if there is a vehicle on the side of the road. If you pass that vehicle in the lane directly next to them you will receive a MASSIVE ticket. They do not take it lightly. You are to move over or slow down to a crawl. I have BEEN pulled over and had officers actually cuss because how close cars get to them. Its mind boggling. Just move over!
Josh Collins in NJ, move over law is only for police and emergency vehicles pulled over, correct?
If so, or should be for any car on side of rd.
Sharon I dont believe there is any stipulation in the law to move over while vehicles are performing traffic stops. I not completely sure. Colorado it was if any vehicle was on the side of the road you are required to move over to another lane or creep by at a low speed. Was the same way in Alaska. If you didnt. The cop would straight up hop back in his vehicle and ticket the HELL out of the person.
Josh Collins pretty sure the move over law stipulates that any vehicle exhibiting warning (hazard) lights is included in the mover over rule.
Josh Collins it wasn’t a disabled vehicle….and it wasn’t on the side of the road. This article is awfully written.
Jay what were they speeding and just rear ended the vehicle?
Josh Collins there were actually 3 vehicles. One spun out on the left side of the pkwy hitting the guard rail and stopping in the left lane. Causing the second “disabled” vehicle as they are calling it to spin out and come to rest sideways in the right lane. The 3rd vehicle t-boned that vehicle.
Jay oh wow. That COMPLETELY changes this entire situation
Josh Collins this happened in brick too not that long ago
Omg. So sad, prayers for all involved. Maybe Honda driver didn’t see car at 2 in morning. It is dark. Maybe Ford didn’t have flashers or lights on. So quick to judge when you don’t know circumstances.
Robyn Gray exactly my thought. And that stretch is not lit at all!
Robyn Gray visibility in the parkway down here is horrible at night. Not many street lights. Maybe he didn’t see the car. So sad. Prayers to both families
Very sad. RIP
I was driving north this morning at 3:00a and there were about 3 accidents already. It was raining, slippery and a lot of glare, you could hardly see the lines…..NY cars were driving like nutcases.
Michael Cutro I wonder if it’s the car with no tail lights
????????????????
How sad for both families. And what were the odds of them having the same first name. My prayers to all involved.
If there were troopers out keeping the speed down there might be less accidents. Even locally I see people driving crazy and there is not a cop to be found.
Sometimes they seem to be observing, but don’t notice anything.
You’re supposed to move over for disabled vehicles ????

I drove through this just as if emergency vehicles were responding the roads were very very bad can hardly see in that stretch of the parkway
Always always… if your car is disabled on side of parkway, go up onto grass, hill, trees, whatever.
This happens too often 🙁
Point of this story is do not buy a Ford product. A 2010 Ford broken down is kinda bad. Unless it was out of fuel that car should be able to make it home. This gives a new perspective of the F.O.R.D. saying that I won’t mention right now. You know what I mean!
Michael Mchale 8 children lost their dad and because he’s driving a Ford it’s cool to crack jokes about it? ANYTHING can happen to ANY car. Man you got some growing up to do
Samarra Fennell your talking about another accident
Michael Mchale oh absolutely not. That man who died had 8 children.
Just so awful prayers to the families involved ????????????????????????
So sad. I don’t know the circumstances why the Honda hit the Ford, but I make it a point to move over to the next lane if possible for disabled vehicles. It’s a law to move over for emergency vehicles, I just do it for anyone stuck on the shoulder.
So sad!! I’m sorry for the loss!! We drove home from Va last night. There were so many broken down cars on the shoulders. Most you couldn’t even see!! Scary!
Back in the ’80s my car died on the highway, car just quit and had no electric power at all. Even though I am an auto mechanic I realize there was nothing I can do on the side of the road. I had two wheels on the grass and two wheels on the shoulder, it was downpouring like crazy and visibility was low, I got out of the car and walked about 100 yd in the opposite direction I was traveling. Knowing that if somebody hit my car all the debris would not be flying in my direction. No cell phones back then, waited in a downpour for 3 hours for a trooper to come by and call for a wrecker.
I would do the same thing today if I broke down.
Jacki Curtis !!!!
People fly on the parkway and there’s no cops in sight. I was in the GSP last night. I was doing 75 and people were flying past me like i was standing still. I got on at exit 145 and got off exit 80 and i didn’t see not one police officer.
