On November 22, 2019 Detectives Ryan Talty and Bernardino Alvarado were conducting a selective enforcement detail at the Wawa located at 116 Brick Blvd.

While inside Wawa, detectives observed a male subject known from previously related police encounters as Johnathan Tinik. Tinik was found to have an active warrant for $250.00 issued by Ocean Township (Monmouth) Municipal Court. Tinik was placed into custody, processed, and released.

In a separate incident, detectives observed a vehicle exit the parking lot onto Brick Blvd. After observing motor vehicle violations a motor vehicle stop was conducted. As a result of the motor vehicle stop and further investigation, Ptl. Prendeville and his K9 partner Max arrived on scene and performed a K9 sniff. K9 Max provided a positive indication to CDS being inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Erica Azurak, was found to have multiple warrants totaling $2,058.00. She was arrested and processed on the warrant.

One of the passengers, Robert Johnson was arrested on eight (8) outstanding warrants totaling $146,432.09.

As a result of the positive K9 indication, a search of the motor vehicle was conducted. The third passenger, Rachel Mulligan was arrested after various prescription medications were found.

Mulligan was charged with the following offenses and released on a complaint summons:
Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Xanax) – 2C:35-10A(1)
Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Alprazolam) – 2C:35-10A(1)
Possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Clonazepam) – 2C:35-10A(1)
Possession of a prescription legend drug – 2C:35-10.5B(2)


Arrest made for Possession and intent to distribute CDS

On November 20, 2019 Detective Ryan Talty was conducting an area check in the Briar Mills complex when he observed suspicious activity involving a subject operating a motor vehicle. Det. Talty with the assistance of Detective Jeff Person conducted a motor vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle in the area of Herbertsville Rd/Sally Ike Rd. Shortly thereafter, Sgt. Catalina and his K9 partner Duke responded to the motor vehicle stop and performed a K9 sniff. K9 Duke provided a positive indication to CDS being inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted. The search revealed a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine and a jar containing green vegative matter believed to be marijuana. These items along with $429 in cash were seized by the detectives.
Michael Mylet, DOB 12/15/1955 of Easy St. Howell, NJ was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Possession with intent to distribute cocaine – 2C:35-5B(3)
Possession of cocaine – 2C:35-10A(1)
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana – 2C:35-5B(12)
Possession of marijuana – 2C:35-10A(4)
Possession of drug paraphernalia -2C:36-2
Mylet was also issued the following motor vehicle summonses:
Maintenance of lamps – 39:3-66
CDS in MVC -39:4-49.1
Mylet was released after being served with a complaint summons.
