I don’t understand- are the complaints inferring that the proximity of his meeting influenced the voter results? Both our Freeholder incumbents handily won their seats, Assemblyman McGuckin swept- his new running mate did as well. Sheriff Masteonardy rocked it as always. Oh and the Brick Town Council has been leaning blue for a long while. Perhaps if their opponents had run with someone other then Fozman they might have faired better but this looks like grasping at straws and with the huge, overwhelming success of all the other Republican candidates –

19:34-15. If a person shall distribute or display any circular or printed matter or offer any suggestion or solicit any support for any candidate, party or public question within the polling place or room or within a distance of one hundred feet of the outside entrance to such polling place or room, he shall be guilty of a disorderly persons offense.
It doesn’t matter how the precinct polled or who the incumbent was. Illegal is illegal. It’s like not using a blinker on public roads when there’s not a single person to signal to. It’s still illegal.

Did he even bring up the local candidates in his speech with-the seniors? I am sure every word he said is recorded and transcribed. One of my sons works in a Congressional office and as a staffer he is not permitted to go near any campaign events for any candidate including his boss.

Was he discussing problems that plague Brick residents and offering up the Brick candidates as solutions? Was he holding a town hall specific to the issues of those seniors, the medical services they need, answering questions specific to those issues? I am sure the entire arrival, meeting and departure was recorded and permanently on record so those questions and all the other questions folks have can be addressed. He was there to serve constituents not stump for the Brick slate.

Vicki Lynn Dougherty Apparently he was originally denied holding the meeting at the clubhouse the day of the election but his team fought to get it on the day of the election. Why? It could have been the day before or the day after. It could have been in a location that literally WASN’T the same room (which was only separated by a folding partition). But no. It had to be held on election day in basically the same room.
He defends his position as only discussing “federal” legislation such as veterans affairs and prescription medicine. That’s politics, period. You can run a local and state campaign based on those politics.
I don’t care if Tom MacArthur had won the district instead of Kim and was there instead talking about federal legislation on border security. Politics is politics.
