TOMS RIVER – A driver hit the wrong pedal sending his vehicle right into a hair salon that police say is now destroyed.
Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little told Jersey Shore Online that the 72-year-old man thought he was hitting the brake but hit the accelerator instead. His vehicle ended up crashing through the Alchemy Hair Studio in the Stella Pavilion on Hooper Avenue in the Silverton section of town.
Little said that no one was injured and thankfully, the salon was closed at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and the building department was going out to inspect the location which is in shambles.
Take his license away
Sharon Brock Pirkowski Penny Bubadias Ferone
Amber Rose Pirkowski omg hope everyone is ok
Wrong pedal = Probably shouldn’t be driving anymore
They always have people running into the building there . They are starting to deserve it by not putting up those concrete pillars like wawa has .
Wow glad no one was injured or killed
Called it
Your done old man sorry but phone a friend
I think that salon better move…..third times a charm
This is why they need to be retested at a certain age.
Christina Gowen I always say this! My first car accident was caused by a much older man who just pulled right out infront AS we were passing and many other near accidents and they were all older people.
Mandatory retesting at 65…..
Glad no one was injured
MANDATORY RETESTING! I Hope Alexis and everyone at the salon are ok. Every week someone 65+ is crashing into a building or house because they are confused about the most basic premise of driving a car.,…..forward or reverse.
Welcome to OC..What else is new. They should be retested after a certain age!!! This dumb state!
Maybe at 70 they should switch the brake and gas pedal
Should have transported him right to dmv for a retest.
