SEASIDE HEIGHTS – A suspected bomb threat reported on the beach in Seaside Heights was later deemed unfounded after police investigation.

On Oct.27, Seaside Heights Police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit responded to the beach on Carteret Ave. after a 9-1-1 caller reported a “suspicious object,” Detective Steve Korman told Jersey Shore Online.

The caller reported seeing the object from the boardwalk.

“The object was identified by officers to be a plastic water bottle wrapped in duct tape, filled with urine,” said Korman.

Especially following the 2016 pipe bomb explosion during the Marine Corps race in Seaside Heights, police continue to take any potential bomb threat seriously.
