Jackson: In the area of New Prospect and County Line. A bucket truck was spotted today allegedly installing an Eruv along utility poles. This alone isn’t unusual with the influx of Hasidic Jews living in the county. What struck the person who took the photos as unsafe was the young girl in the bucket. If you look at the photos, you can see a male wearing proper protective equipment to be working along electric lines in the bucket.
Then there is a younger girl riding inside the bucket with the male and she has not even a hard hat on! Clearly this has to be a violation, and the company’s name is printed on the side of the truck. Perhaps someone familiar with OSHA and workplace safety can inquire if this is permitted?

Well Bob, forgetting about religion, here you have a wire running on utility poles, in the direct vicinity that utility workers have to work in, places by people who have no care or concern for safety or regulation, makes it the business of everyone who works on or around utility poles.

Ocean County Scanner News I asked them why they were touching the utility poles. Hasidic told me they have a contract with jcp&l and are allowed to do so. I said stop leaving your children in the car (in front of prospect pointe) he said ok. Clearly went down the road and did this!!

From my understanding orthodox girls at that age are not allowed to stand that close to a male unless it is a very close blood relative such as a brother/father. That’s why i was questioning whether or not its photoshopped. It just seems rediculous to see a child in there. There are many people who seem to have such a hatred for the community that it doesn’t seem unreasonable that someone would do a photo shop. If it is indeed legit, even if the girl is his daughter its not safe to take anyone for a joy ride in one of those things

This is not a religious issue its a safety issue. If that photo was legitimate and a child was indeed in the bucket suspended in the air that is definitely a huge violation. Those trucks are not toys or amusement park rides. Only people specifically trained for that job should be in there. People should never be in those buckets without wearing the proper protective attire. Children do not belong in those buckets under any circumstance.

Shouldn’t be attaching anything to a utility pole without approval. JCP&L has to remove them every time they go on those poles, then they put them back up. No rules need to be followed, it’s out of control.
