Lacey: Around 06:15 this morning, officers were asked to respond to the Oyster Creek Power Plant in reference to an employee who had a handgun in his bag. This was called in by plant security as they discovered it during a routine bag check.
Lacey PD has secured the weapon and has it in custody at their PD HQ. They also departed the power plant with no arrests, so the incident appears to be handled internally. No further details regarding the reason the employee brought the gun will be available as the power plant isn’t a public entity. We cannot OPRA their operations directly.

How about the person carrying the gun? Did they think he/she might just be a threat???????
Hopefully only carrying for self defense. .odd though. Cause employee would know about bag check.
Was the weapon used for another job, perhaps security or Armored car? In the tax state it isn’t far fetched that someone might be working themselves ragged and they forgot to remove the item between jobs. Not giving excuses, just a thought I had.
Someone forgot to put it away after going target shooting over weekend
Probably an out of state worker who isn’t used to New Jersey’s ridiculous laws
Was it loaded or unloaded?
Was person a law abiding citizen or a felon?
Bag checker must have been a liberal.
Need more details.
Larry Trainor or maybe bag checker was just following protocol? How is this political lol. I’m a firearms owner and I wouldn’t skirt my job to let a pistol into a secured facility.
Totally understandable.
What was the mans intent? Honest mistake? Out of state, non resident? Is person a FID holder?
If so, “excuse me sir, turn around and take this firearm back where it belongs”…would have been my response.
I can’t answer those questions, but if you’d do that at the risk of losing your job, you’re a bigger gambler than I. That’s cool. But to just make wack comments like this… I don’t know how else to say this, it just makes you look simple.
All law abiding citizens should have the right to concealed carry! NJ has stripped us of our constitutionally protected and unalienable right. Firearms are not the problem. Criminals are the problem.
We dont ban automobiles because people drive drunk do we?
Simple? Wacked comments?
No I believe in common sense and the second amendment.
I don’t disagree. I’ll say again, I’m a firearms owner, and 2A supporter.
We don’t ban automobiles, nor do we ban firearms. Both are regulated.
Do I agree with the regulations? Not all of them. (On either subject! ?)
But yes, calling the RP a liberal is for sure a wack comment. I’m sorry if you don’t understand what I mean by that. It’s silly. And yes, it demonstrates how simple your thought process on the topic is, even if in truth your opinions are well-formed.
The defense of a piece of shit clinging to a hair on Trump’s ass. Go fuck yourself Larry.
Kevin Karlick 2016 really broke your scrotum eh? But do yourself a favor, for the 2020 elections, save your Kleenex napkins, I pay top dollar for liberal tears. ?
sad, mans life is probably ruined now over a victimless crime
Ricky Perez Jr we might have to go back to work. Shotgun day shift ?
Scott Braden definitely victimless but there are a ton of gun laws that change from state to state. I had to confirm with every state from Georgia to jersey before transporting my firearm here if you’re going to have a firearm it comes with a lot of responsibility and you have to know the laws regardless of where you reside
This is why we need “national reciprocity”.
We dont have to check our vehicle capability or our drivers licenses before traveling.
Larry Trainor totally agree with you. But if we did and that was the law there would still be people who wouldn’t do their homework. I totally get the rights to have these things but if you have a license or permit to own a gun, it comes with a lot of responsibility part of that responsibility is knowing where when and how you can transport or carry it. For guns in Nj New Jersey prohibits any person from transporting, possessing or having a firearm in his or her control in a motor vehicle, unless the firearm is unloaded and contained in a closed and securely fastened case, or locked in the trunk . This post could be brief. This person could have a shotgun in a bag in prep for hunting season. No chance it’s getting into the plant.. I’ve turned drivers away for bigger knives. People going specifically to the power plant are usually educated by their employers on what not to do.
Might be the smoking gun from the Manchester massacre from last night!!!!
Steve Domanski wasnt that a knife?
NEVER bring a knife to a gun fight
Good job. May have stopped a mass shooting.
Michael Chelednik omg this comment is dumber than you with your narcan comment
What is going on in these towns lately? Are they really getting that bad? Drive by shootings, drugs, problems in public places? I always thought the Brick-Toms River areas were so nice….all I read lately is bad stuff
Daneen Matulewicz it’s always been like this, you just hear of it more now because of social media.
Dave Meyer yea that and all the extra homicides, lol.
Intentions?
Dianne Downey Lefley
Jennifer Staples you leave there and shit hits the fan
