Directed Enforcement Detail

In an effort to promote safe driving, on Friday October 18, 2019, officers were detailed to the area of Monmouth Road (Rt. 537) for a directed enforcement detail in an effort to address distracted, aggressive and impaired driving. Additionally at the same time, officers were detailed to the parking lot of Six Flags Great Adventure to address any illegal activity they observed in the parking lot during the evening hours which can draw very large crowds during the annual Fright Fest and to assist with security during that time.

During this time, 87 motor vehicle stops were conducted and 32 motor vehicle summons were issued for various violations. Additionally, officers patrolling the parking lot on foot, bicycle and vehicle were involved in the following incidents:

  • At 1721 hours, officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, arrested a 23 year old male resident of West Babylon, NY who was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 1743 hours, officers walking through the parking lot encountered a male subject who was rolling a marijuana blunt while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle with the door open. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional marijuana. The 25 year old male resident of New York was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 1848 hours, officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 24 year old male resident of Warminster, PA for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 1851 hours, officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 21 year old female resident of Wrightstown, who was charged with possession of marijuana along with also having two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 1910 hours, officers checking on a suspicious activity in the parking lot in a vehicle arrested a 20 year old female resident of West Islip, NY who was charged with obstruction, a 20 year old male resident of Dix Hills, NY who was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and a 19 year old male resident of Dix Hills, NY who was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released on summons pending court appearances.
  • At 1932 hours, officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 19 year old male resident of New York for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 2013 hours during a motor vehicle stop on Monmouth Road, a 21 year old male and an 18 year old female resident of Newark, NJ were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 2029 hours while checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, officers arrested an 18 year old male resident of Union City, NY and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
  • At 2032 hours while checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, officers observed the occupant of a vehicle throw a plastic bag out of the window of the car. The bag was discovered to contain marijuana. A 19 year old male resident of Union City, NJ was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

  • The media and the public are reminded that any persons arrested or charged with any offenses or crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
