Little Egg Harbor Twp. Police Press Release:

On 10-04-2019 at approximately 8:00pm Little Egg Harbor Twp. Police were dispatched to an address off of Great Bay Blvd. for an active disturbance. When officers arrived on scene they attempted to make contact with a subject who was still inside the residence. While officers were inside they heard one gun shot and maintained control of the area they had already secured. Other officers set up a perimeter around the residence and evacuated neighbors. It was later discovered that the subject / resident, a 40 year old male, had died from a self inflicted gun shot wound.

The Tuckerton Borough Police Department, Ocean County Sheriffs Department, Ocean County Swat Team, Ocean County Prosecutors Office, and Great Bay Regional Ambulance Service assisted during the incident.
