A group of residents are trying to change the town ordinance on being able to have chickens and roosters in town . They have gone to the town meeting this week also and so far things seem to be going well. They even have a Facebook group called Chickens for Barnegat that they made up to share ideas and information with each other in the town and some from neighboring towns. We would love to hear your thoughts on this and if you live in one of the neighboring towns give their group a request to join .

Bad idea. Who needs the noise?
Pat Romano probably hear more noise on 4th July weekend then chickens make all year.
Fry ’em! ?
Next they will want cows
No roosters, please
Staci Lynn it would be only 1 rooster with certain rules for the rooster it’s still in the works on everything nothing is set in stone yet by anyone
My kids were in 4H and we had many chickens. They learned so much. I miss having chickens in my backyard.
Ocean County Scanner News I don’t mind hens for neighbors, but I don’t want a rooster for an alarm clock ?
