Mount Holly: Missing Teen Girl’s photo shows up on Trafficking Sites
A New Jersey mother is pleading for the safe return of her teenage daughter, who has been missing for nine days, according to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Aviana Weaver, 17, was last seen in Mount Holly in Burlington County, and her mother, Angelica Scarlett, fears her daughter is a victim of sex trafficking.
Weaver was last seen on Sept. 12, and Scarlett told NBC that she had received a text on Sept. 14. from an unknown number claiming to be her daughter and that she was being held against her will.
The teen was last seen wearing black jeans, a nude-colored tank top, and leopard slides, according to Westampton police.
Scarlett said pictures of Weaver have been seen by investigators on sex trafficking websites, according to a report by New Jersey 101.5 FM.
“We have pornography pictures and my daughter looked completely upset and unhappy in these photos,” Scarlett said to the radio station. Investigators “believe she is in danger being held against her will. She’s 17 and she looks upset.”
She also received a tip that her daughter may be in the area of Broad Street and Erie Avenue in Philadelphia, and has been out searching for her daughter herself, according to Facebook posts.
“People think they saw her in the area on Wednesday. We were there until 1 a.m. but no luck,” Scarlett told NJ 101.5.
Weaver is described as being of mixed race — black, white and Hispanic — around 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the missing children agency.
“She’s never done this before,” Scarlett told NJ 101.5. “This is her senior year. She went to school for the first few days and then disappeared. She missed an eye doctor appointment. She doesn’t have any clothes. This is not like her. She hasn’t been known to be on any drugs. We don’t have family or friends in Philadelphia. It’s completely out of character and scary.”

OMG, I couldn’t even imagine! Back in the late 90’s my 15 year old daughter ran away with the bf I didn’t know about ( they only “dated” in school, she was home or with me the rest of the time ) the new boy in school ( who we came to find out came from an abusive family) and a bunch of other kids..I was supposed to pick her up from an after school activity, when I got there they were gone already! In the interim a female classmate was killed in a car accident as I was speaking to her teacher… the police came in, I thought it was my daughter that was killed and dropped to the floor! As it turned out it was the sister of my other daughters bf who was killed.. my husband and I traipsed through the woods of PA, in an area where they were last seen, in the dark, my husband crawled through abandoned homes in the woods, we posted signs all over.. 3-4 days later we get a call from the police telling us that the boys father “just happened to be driving past them somewhere and picked them up” My daughter told us that the entire time they were in a strangers house in PA watching movies! That whole time I was having nightmares, was sick to my stomach and imagining all types of things.. Now, with all this talk of sex trafficking and human trafficking, I often wonder what REALLY was happening.. no one was ever arrested, to wind this all up, I pray that this girl gets back home safely, & that her loved ones find peace in their hearts and souls while she is not with them
