It is with great sadness we announce the closure of our program as of Sept 7, 2019. We are extremely honored to have served our communities these past 13 years. We have had the pleasure of meeting many of you, calling many of you friends, and making amazing memories. We will now dedicate this page to sharing memories, please feel free to share with us.
Wishing fair, safe, skies to the programs who remain.

So who will fly the trauma’s and high risk??
Roberta Staples Cartwright Other birds I’m sure.
A sad day. Their services were so appreciated.
Yeah, so now what ?? This is a bad move.
Robert Paul Skinner I’ve been wondering the same thing…
Who taking over
Cant fund this yet NJ can raise the illegal, key word illegal immigrants paycheck, what a joke
I believe the NJSP will continue emergency helicopter transport
^ & free college
There another private Helicopter Company that’s taken over
Hackensack has a helicopter at ocean county airport.
Why ? funding ? Are you Kidding ?
RWJ is taking over.
What is the true reason monoc 1 will not be serving us anymore????
Thank you for your services to the community ??
New Jersey State Police will be taking over operations with Jemstar 1 and jemstar 2.
Joe Kerly
Correct
Ocean County Scanner News
Why only 12 hours a day? It should be a 24hour 365
My mom told me only criminals are out after dark. ?
Guess that’s why Ocean Medical got their own
Roberta Staples Cartwright they already had one. now they have 2
It’s only a matter of time before monoc gets rid of their paramedic program altogether.
This program was really never necessary. The JEMSTAR program (partnership between NJSP aviation for the helicopter and University EMS for the flight medics and nurses) has been around since 1988 and is funded through a motor vehicle registration surcharge. Atlantic and MONOC jointly sued NJ (successfully eventually) for licensure for their air medical units which until then was solely held by the state program. It was always a for-profit money making operation, in MONOCs case their insane expansion was with the help of power-broker Norcross. NJSP’s NorthSTAR and SouthSTAR still exist and are more than capable of providing the service, and at much lower costs. In the event of unavailability, there are plenty of other regional medevac programs, MONOC-1 was only one of them.
as it should be
Thank you for your service
It is a sad time. It was a very difficult decision to end the program. Unless you work in the business you will never realize the truth behind the states aeromedical programs both NJSP & private.
Scott McKeon Sounds like you have something to say…
Hackensack Meridian Health and RWJ Barnabas will each have medevacs stationed at Miller Air Park.
Ocean County Scanner News that answers my big question
Thank you for your service!

Thank you for your service Monoc1.
Theives. They show up at 911 calls uninvited and then send bills for exhorbitant amounts! Good riddance.
Who do you want to come when you call 911! Calling 911 is literally inviting emergency help
Ali Giberson l called Toms River ambulance service through Toms River police. Toms River was there in 5 minutes! No need for MONOC, who listens in on scanner calls. Nothing but chasers.
MONOC is paramedics units. They are sent by 911 dispatchers to the most serious calls.
Maddie De Luca they treat what “Toms River ambulance service” can’t
Ali Giberson they sent a bill for $1,900.00 but never stepped out of their unit or in the house.
Maddie De Luca same here…my mom sent them away as the police officer who showed up before the local ambulance got there also had paramedic training. They did nothing and sent me a bill for $2200. I called and asked for a copy of the itemized bill they said that I signed for the treatment at the time. Asked me to send a signed letter requesting the bill to get a copy for them to release it to me. Yeah ok…not happening. Than they have a copy of my signature. I had insurance and I told them to submit the bill with my signature on it and let the insurance company handle it. Never heard from them again nor ever got another bill. All they are is ambulance chasers unfortunately
All these “PRIVATE” ones are thieves as well as Public one. Not the workers, they save plenty of lives, and do great work, but the corporations behind them are simply Bloodsuckers, feeding off of peoples pain, and milking everyone’s insurance and draining their wallets.
Maddie De Luca they 1,000 times better trained then any local volunteer first aide squad, they have better equipment and actually know how to use the equipment. Trust in an emergency I would much rather have them their then some volunteer hack.
Robert Richardson just an FYI…the majority of town ambulance services are now paid, trained paramedics- free of charge if a resident, which is the reason for the demise of business like MONOC.
Maddie De Luca you are Misinformed. The town service is not free. Your taxes help subsidize what your insurance company doesn’t cover. They are also mostly EMT’s, some may be trained at a Paramedic level but in NJ can only function as an EMT unless they are working for a hospital based system. It’s unfortunate that healthcare is so expensive. Hopefully you will never truly need a Paramedic but if you do, you won’t mind the bill then.
The system in NJ is a two tier system. Advanced and Basic life support. We both have important roles and work together. No one listens to a scanner to pick up calls. We are dispatched according to how the 911 dispatcher screens the call. Typically ALS (paramedics) is dispatched to severe trauma, cardiac, respiratory, strokes, seizures, and diabetic calls. The system was designed so that if an EMT arrives first they can cancel the ALS if not needed. Also a lot of time ALS is there in case your condition worsens. Paramedics have two years of training and carry approx 41 medications, cardiac monitors, IV supplies, and airway supplies. We can administer medications that will paralyze you so we can insert a breathing tube to maintain an airway so the patient does not aspirate or worse become brain dead from hypoxia. These skills aren’t even performed by most nurses and even some doctors. If someone is very sick they can benefit greatly from ALS. An EMT from the towns paid service or volunteer squad can not perform these skills. This is not intended to diminish what they do but to point out how we all have important jobs and make a significant difference.
Maddie De Luca if not for them our son would not be here. They flew him from Toms River to Jersey Shore. Had 12 pts of blood and 20 bags of saline. Doing good now thanks to them.
Thank you for your service
That sucks ?
Thank you for your service ❤️
Thank you!
?
Why?
?
Thank you for keeping us informed ,I will miss this page ,perhaps you’ll be back !!!
Thank you for all the lives you have saved and all the lives you’ve tried to save!?
My bill was $15,000
Insurance only paid 5 thousand of it
Cindi Jo Casazza Pantano my bill was 950,00. To go 40 ft. Across a driveway.
Why???????
Most likely due to funding. Chopper’s ain’t cheap.
Harold Draken just spoke with Worker, flight crew are not getting paid enough…the coper is done. Possibly rwj would take it over….
