WALL – A Wall Township man was arrested and charged with lewdness after exposing himself to a young girl, police said.

On August 24, 53-year old Earl W. Sullivan III was arrested at his Wall Township residence and charged with one count each of Lewdness and Endangering the Welfare of a Child under the age of 13.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. that day, the Spring Lake Police Department was alerted that a man driving a 1996 Black Ford Mustang had pulled up next to a female juvenile walking her dog. The man also had a brown boxer dog in his car at the time. After engaging the girl in a brief conversation, the man opened his pants and exposed himself to her. The young girl was able to run away and notify a parent immediately.

Following the incident, officers from surrounding towns searched the area and canvassed the neighborhood. An investigation, with the help of residential video surveillance, identified Earl W. Sullivan III as the suspect. Sullivan was then located and taken into custody.
