Jackson Police Department News Release
First Aid Response
On Wednesday August 21, 2019 at approximately 9:25 am, Jackson Police Officers Matthew Roth and Keith Uricks were dispatched to a residence located on Marymount Court on the report of a 2 year old male who had been pulled out of a swimming pool and who was not breathing.
Upon arrival, the officers observed that EMS members of Hatzolah were on scene performing CPR on the victim. They were able to get a pulse back and the child was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
The initial investigation revealed that the child was able to exit the residence out of a rear door and get into the pool and was then discovered by an adult who had been out of the house and had returned home and went into the backyard.
The investigation is being conducted by Det. John Rodriguez and is ongoing at this time.

Where was the parent?!
So sad
???
The article states the 2 year was found when the parent returned home???
So this child was left alone ??
Taryn Rasmussen it says the child was discovered by an adult who just arrived and went through the backyard. So maybe the father, and the mother was inside. Or parents inside and friend visiting. Someone was home with the child, just didn’t even notice they went outside.
Chelsey Lynn Oh ok still a sad story but glad the child wasnt home alone
Taryn Rasmussen yes very sad. I’ve never not known where my son is, especially at age 2 when he wanted to explore. Hopefully the baby makes it okay.
Chelsey Lynn where does it say that an adult was home ???
Deborah Kennedy Kadlac it doesn’t say that the child was left home alone. I said “it says the child was discovered by an adult who just arrived and went through the backyard. So MAYBE….” and then I stated a few possibilities.
Damn shame
Geez, you can’t leave these kids unattended anymore around pools or strapped into a hot car with the windows up… Oy vay!
It can happen In two seconds . If the parent isn’t paying attention at all, shame on them. I have a 2 1/2 yr old . She scared me one time I was folding laundry while my daughter was watching a show. I didn’t realize she knew how to unlock the back door. We have a pool . She wasn’t anywhere near it. But it could have been bad. I was not paying attention for 5 minutes.
Prayers for that child
