These men, who are so incredibly important to me, are dying. That’s not an exaggeration. It’s fact. Rich and Bobby are being kept alive by a dialysis machine. Rich has been on dialysis for SIX YEARS! Can you imagine? Three times a week, being hooked up for hours? That’s not a life. That’s simply existing. These men deserve to LIVE LIFE. Danny will be next if a miracle doesn’t happen STAT! His kidney function is in the low teens!!!

What do we need in our donors??
• Type O+/- (Dan/Rich) or Type A+/- blood (Bobby)
• Close proximity to NJ (surgery is in Livingston, NJ) at Saint Barnabus. You must be able to go there.
• Healthy (non smoking, no medical issues)
• Ability to take the recovery time (1-2 weeks)

Why is this happening? Why did their kidneys fail? Not because they abused their bodies or drugs. Danny and Bobby were police officers. The boys have Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). It took their father in 2000 at 63 years old. Their grandmother did dialysis for 20 years. It has hit their entire family like a grim reaper tidal wave. This is ALL GENETIC. They can’t stop it, there’s no cure. They need a kidney transplant ASAP!

There are over 100,000 people on the kidney transplant waiting list. The wait for a deceased donor in New Jersey is roughly seven years, more often closer to ten years. Over 3,000 new patients are added to the kidney waiting list each month, approximately one every fourteen minutes. Each day, TWELVE people die while waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant.

Even if you’re NOT a potential donor, PLEASE help us by sharing this. These guys NEED a miracle. This rescue girl needs a miracle. I won’t stop chasing the dream of seeing all 3 of them healthy. I did my part. I completed the paired exchange program testing, and now I wait for approval. A paired exchange could potentially take several months to a year. Time Danny does NOT have.
