We’ve been asked to open a public opinion forum on the current status of the hospital.
We’re asking our fans to comment below on your recent experience with CMC. The consensus is the hospital has changed, and we’d like to hear from you all. Please share feedback below for visits during 2019 only. This time we’re asking fans to spare the horror stories from the past. We’ll go over past horror stories in a later forum.
Thank you everyone!
I haven’t been there in years, so I really can’t give an honest opinion.
Let’s just say I wouldn’t let my pet rat run free in CM…?
They kill people.
I have to honestly say inwas treated great when I was there for a week. I have also experienced first hand how much better they got with stroke patients as well. I also have been going thru alot of tests as of late and have zero complaints on the staff.
People go there to fucking die
CMC saved my dad when he when he went in after he stopped breathing
Go somewhere else for anything
Community killed my Mother indirectly…The doctors are all incompetent there.
Mike Zió they killed my father as well its a shit hole always has been always will be ??♀️
Mike Zió killed my grandfather and tried to cover it up.
they almost killed my husband at 36 years old with viral chf ??♀️ kept pushing him to drink water when he was drowning!
Mike Zió preach that cuz they deff killed aunt eggy
Hopefully they paid up for their negligence
Mike Zió I feel the same way when my hubby died like they didn’t know what they were doing and said they felt sorry for the surgeon and then asked me if I wanted to see my husband.I will never be the same
They allowed my 2 day old son to go home without passing a stool. He ended up having Hirschsprungs disease and could have died. Thank God for RWJH.
Phil Bucc community is owned by RWJBarnabas ??♀️ same company, definitely NOT same care!
Katharine Brzozowski agreed. RWJH is leagues better.
Just had out patient surgery last month, I give them an A+, i was treated quickly, and everyone was extremely nice and professional
It’s a death trap
i’m giving birth there in december so i hope their good.. ive heard lots of good things about the maternity unit
Carolyn Rose their maternity is terrific.
Carolyn Rose their maternity ward is amazing! Had both of my sons there (both c sections) and had a wonderful experience both times with the staff and facility. Highly recommend their maternity ward
Their maternity ward is the only thing good there. Had 2 babies there myself and a wonderful experience
mmm not that great
Toni-Marie Mack how come?
All 3 of my kids were born there; and indeed the maternity ward is well-Run!
i gave birth there in 2018. They were terribly short staffed. I was lucky that it was my second child and I was fairly versed in all the procedures. They wanted me to walk out of the hospital on my own carrying the baby in the car seat. ??♀️
My daughter had my granddaughter there. No complaints on maternity ward. ER another story
I just had my son there in July (and my other son 4 years ago there as well). We had a great experience. The nurses there were wonderful. I had a good experience the last time, but even better one this go around.
Carolyn Rose I had a great experience in the maternity ward there.
I had a great experience in maternity ward last July. Amazing staff. A+
this is my first child so i’m definitely feeling better about all these great reviews, thank you!
Carolyn Rose it’s the only great ward in that hospital!!
Carolyn Rose maternity ward is great…. it’s the rest of the place you gotta watch out for
Carolyn Rose maternity ward is great!
My son was born there via c-section and everyone who cared for us was fantastic!
Carolyn Rose I just had my second son there June 2018. They were fantastic
They almost killed my father with pain meds for knee surgery. Thank god my mom walked in when my father was blue from not breathing.they just were able to bring him back .he would’ve died without my mom walking in.my father was never the same after that. Who knows how long he wanting breathing for
I heard it’s been recently run by a different person in charge who is trying to make alot of positive changes so let’s hope it’s gonna be better than in the past
Lauralee Vanderbeck O’prey
We heard this also, hence the survey!
Yes. New CEO. Real nice guy.
Courtney Valentine who is it?
Ya , they killed my friend ,
….. I wouldn’t go there for a hangnail!!!@
Horrible ?
7hrs in emergency room waiting go anywhere but there
I sat in the Emergency Room for 8 hours from having a seizure and all they did was withdraw blood from me
Took 16hrs to get my 92 father a bed.
Harable hospital and nursing staff are the worst
Comedy medical center….they really need better doctors lol
2019.. almost killed me during a scheduled c-section… while I was on maternity leave from this shithole….
My friend had her last child there…Both contracted MRSA in the maternity ward….Sad! Another friend of mine was there just a few weeks ago..I went to visit and believe me the way she was treated (she is deathly sick) it was horrible. Unfortunately she went by ambulance and they would not take her to hospital of her choice where her doctors were. Would not send an animal there let alone someone sick!
I had same day surgery … and loved the team of people who took care of me
My fiancé died in the cancer ward years ago one nurse was terrible with him I wouldn’t go on that unit again. And Dr. perique sucks. Not the lung doctor I don’t know him but the other one.I had been in the radiation department for oncology and they’re very nice very good. I also know a couple of the nurses in the ER are fantastic one is Christina and the other is Mary Pat. Very hard-working they don’t give those girls a lot of credit in there.
Killed my grandfather, tried to cover it up. Never made it to court
Sounds familiar with my Grandfather too!
The ER doc almost killed my 9 month old. She had choked on a little bead of plastic a couple days before but I thought she coughed it up. I noticed she was wheezing, was lethargic and stopped eating and I realized she didn’t cough it up, she inhaled it. Took her to the ER, told him what happened and the dr told me she had asthma (with no history of it) and tried to discharge her. I refused to leave and he insisted it was just asthma and she was fine. The next Dr came in on shift change, listened to her lungs and immediately transferred her by ambulance at midnight to Monmouth Medical Center where she spent the night in the PICU on an IV for dehydration and had to have a bead of plastic surgically removed from her lung the next morning. She spent two more days in the PICU recovering.
Allie Zden omg
Shut it down!
Parking at a local hospital ? $5.00 f that place it’s not penn in Philadelphia
Steven Edgin
To charge for parking in that decrepit garage is an insult.
I had my babies there and thought they were fantastic, but the rest of the hospital not so much
I’m not going to say they’re bad, but I heard someone passed away that came in for a hangnail.
ER sucks..took my granddaughter there and was given an RX. Went to Rite Aid to fill it and was for a different patient! Yes i raised hell but did get 3 call backs from patient advocate and Director of ER
Personally never had any bad issues with them. Only as good as your drs. If you dont like them gp somewhere else
Horrible
A emergency visit should not take 8 hours ? also it should be free to park
i agree all hospitals should be free to park
8 hours in the ER with incorrect notes on my chart saying they gave me narcotics I told them I didn’t want. The prescription mysteriously disappeared. The nurses and doctors all were pretty incompetent. I spoke to multiple people but never got a call from administration like I was told I would. Horrible… drive to Jersey shore
I live 2 miles away and I always go further if possible.
One of my good friends almost died twice there . Once from a routine appendectomy , then another procedure that went wrong and was airlifted to philly , revamp or shut it down !
It has gone way down.
The ER doctor saved mine and my unborn childs life at 5 months pregnant when my appendix completely ruptured. Then i spent a week in their maternity ward. And they treated me amazingly! I had my daughter at Jersey shore. And only saw the nurses like three or four times while i was there. Felt completely alone. Wish i had her at community
Not so pleased so far with my experience with maternity ward nurse there blew my wife’s veins twice and she has a bleeding disorder where her blood can’t clot and the obgyn doctor forget her name she is awful doesn’t validate your feelings went there other day my wife’s contracting preterm as she’s contracting she goes oh your not contracting as the contraction prints out on the monitor defiantly switching so we don’t have to give birth there
Won’t go to community if I was dying I’ll go to Lakewood first
Cynthia Mc Sulla do NOT go to Lskewood. My boyfriend went there for inflamed appendix. Kept him overnight for iv antibiotics. Room was dirty, couldn’t find a nurse, room leaked when it rained. NEVER go to Kimball!
Never had that prob wit me or my kids !!
My mom went to the hospital they said she had diverticulitis she went back a few times kept getting discharged the next day she was so sick she had a lay in the back of a car to get driven to New Brunswick St Peters she had blood septic
Barb Filkohazi they said diverticulitis to me too. Full of shit
Hate that place
Christina Cassese that my mother had a stroke and we brought her to community and they gave her an antacid and let her drink from a straw before she even had a swallow test they put her in the part of the hospital that had to do with the brain did nothing for her so we brought her to St Peters
I was in for 4days with a stroke and only got bathed once
I was taken by ambulance and admitted through the ER
Every one was so nice, they were very busy with emergencies and they keep apologizing for the delays. Even though I was sick there were patients much worse. Everyone one was very nice and efficient.
Had to take my mother who I never saw in such pain in my life around 8pm was packed full we waited over 4 hours to get seen and another 3 to see a doctor was terrible!!
I was experiencing chest pains and had really high blood pressure, i went to a cardiologist and had some test ran and a few hours later he called and said get to the ER and he’ll call and say I’m coming in. I went to the ER and said what my doctor said. I had a heart attack and my arteries weren’t working. They’dsaid they never got a call and made me wait in the lounge with chest pains. Finally they got the message but thankfully I was transfered the next day to Jersey Shore for a triple bypass. They made me feel like I was lying
Last week my daughter was in the er brought in by monoc as a pediatric respiratory patient. She passed out at home followed by an asthma attack when she came to. The emts and paramedics did more for her in my living room. They kept her in the hospital for 6 hours. Did not one single test. The pediatric doctor on call told us to follow up with her pediatrician and never examined my daughter. The nurses in the er were amazing and kept apologizing because they didn’t know what they were supposed to do, no orders from the doctor and they were extremely short staffed. Three people in the er. Thankfully her pediatrician is amazing and sent her to her cardiologist right away. She has a heart condition which I told everyone, nope, they didn’t care.
I had one bad experience there about 35 years ago when they were unable to diagnose poison ivy, which was severe. Since then I’ve never had a bad experience, the staff have always been kind, compassionate and efficient. That was in the E.R., intensive care, maternity, cardiac, and chemo and radiation (or whatever they call that part of hospital) and pediatrics.
Labor and delivery is the only saving grace for this place.
I was just there last wed in er I received very good care.
My father just passed away on Tuesday from complications of incompetent doctors affiliated with community…
Worst hospital ever
I was transferred from the urgent care after getting a bad ekg reading.. they let me sit for at least 4 if not 5 hours before being seen.
Laura Michelle what was the outcome?
Chris Tean Kinsaul they never found anything wrong, but here we are 6 months later and I’m having a ton of health issues which may or may not be related
I had a collapsed lung 3 years ago and I had a good eight day experience at Community Medical. The staff did their job the right way in a timely manner and the doctors were very professional about things. I’m surprised I hear all these bad things about it. If we’re talking shitty experiences, I ended up at Hackensack Meridian in Brick with appendicitis and the entire thing was a long drawn out nightmare. What should’ve been a two day stay in the hospital ended up being eight days because of a botched surgery that caused damage to my bladder and urethra. I had to have a catheter in for an entire week, all the while the doctor who was taking care of me kept trying to kick me out because he didnt think I needed to be there. I tried going home several times but the catheter kept falling out and I was worried I’d hurt myself and I thought the least they could do was let me stay considering I could’ve sued the shit out of them.
Community > Meridian
I’d sooner go to a third world witch doctor then ever go to community. Better chance of survival
I don’t really like any of the hospitals attend l around here. It the doctor’s for the most part. My pictures are it in there Cherry Hill Camden area. They’re connected with Cooper. I’m very happy with my doctors out there
years ago my mom was having trouble breathing , we were new down here we called 911 they asked my dad and i where we wanted them to bring her , we said community because that’s all we knew , they both attendants looked at one another and i said what’s wrong with that hospital , they said they wouldn’t bring their dog there .
I delivered my son there via c-section and was pleased with the care my son and I received. This was 6 years ago though…
Amanda Ottavi having a baby is on a completely different level of care
Pam Ann not when you are having a c-section and have a heart condition!
Several years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The diagnosis came from ruling out a stroke all while at Community. I had built a solid friendship with my OB over the years. She saw I was admitted and stopped by my room to see if I was ok and if I needed to talk. While talking strategy with her her advice..Community awesome place to deliver your baby…do not stay for any other procedure. Thanks doc…off to NYU I went.
1)Almost killed me and my baby while in labor 3 yrs ago. Gave me the wrong iv medication. Had to be put completely under for emergency C-sec. Baby in nicu for a wk.
2)Misdiagnosed husb. It was a simple infection that needed to be cut and drained. Hosp just gave him antibiotics script & sent him on his way.
I will never go there again.
I live 5 mins from Comedy Medical Center and I’ll still take the trip to Ocean Medical.
The ER staff has always treated my son well.
And, honestly, they are the ones that caught on that my son had cancer, when Jersey Shore discharged him and sent him home saying there was nothing wrong with him ??♀️
Went there after I collapsed thinking I punctured a lung was vomiting and had shoulder pain (signs of a spleen injury) was not only told to “man up” by the dr who no longer works there but was sent home with a “contusion” ended up at my drs bp was 85/40 I was internally bleeding. Dr sent me back after screaming at them for not doing any tests. Was rushed to JSUMC to the trauma unit.. I broke two ribs which lacerated my spleen was put in ICU then the heart floor for a week.. dr said if I didn’t come over when I did chances are I would have went to sleep and never woke up. I wouldn’t bring my worst enemy to CMC.
This was a while ago but one time I went there in really bad pain all over my body they told me it was due to a prior car accident i was in I went to immediate care the following day I had the flu and pneumonia and community sent me home like that
Broke my tibia, they take xrays, say nothing is wrong. I go back, they say nothing is wrong and I can’t walk. I get my cd of xray,go to sports doctor, he asks where my cast is. I tell him Comedy Medical Center says nothing is wrong. He laughs, hands me my cd, and says “GO GET A LAWYER”…
Dave Meyer nice malpractice case you have hope you got a lawyer like your sports dr told you too
Pam Ann no I didn’t. I was dumb
Dave Meyer how long ago was this
Pam Ann 2015
Debi
Every hospital has its horror stories! And if you think CMC is bad, SOCH,is worse!
Maryann Schack Stewart Soch has improved a lot. They saved my life when I was bit by a black widow that Atlanticare gave me a tetanus shot for!
Too much to type..my grandfather passed under their watch (negligence)
My Dad was taken to that hell hole from his home in Manchester because they refused to take him.to Brick. They advised rehab that he had dementia and told them that he needed to be placed in a rehab that had a special place for those people. He hit his head in the shower very very hard…he did not have dementia. The rehab took communities advice and took us several days to get him out of the locked ward. Horrible place
My husband was there on many occasions and they couldn’t have been any better the nurses and the doctors were very caring.
Horrible
That place is a joke . Too much time it would take to write my experiences. The only thing I can quickly use as an example is went in via ambulance for a dog attack, was told they were out of tetanus shots to go get one within 48 hrs ????
I was there Nov. 2018 for two weeks total (emergency ICU believe 4 days) Dr and nurses saved my life. What more can I say.
Just this past week my bro-in- law passed away. Complications from pneumonia. 50 something years old, no insurance, been sick for awhile before going to CMC. Skinny, hadn’t eaten well in a long time, got maybe a day or two of tube feedings. Docs couldn’t understand why he was so sleepy. Duh- very ill people need extra nutrients!
Just 2 months ago I brought my 11 month old there for a stomach virus she was extremly lethargic I was brought to the back immediately and it took an hour for the doctor just to see her! They started fluids and said she was ok I pleaded that they keep her because she was not… Anyway we were sent home and in less than 48 hours I had to rush her back there because she was not responding they are the closest hospital and I jad no choice needless to say she shouldve stayed 2 days prior because she was extremly dehydrated!
Now I most say labor and delivery is amazing!!!!! I had 3 babies there and it was nothing less than an amazing experience!!
Debbie Jarmolinski. I agree the. Nurses in labor and delivery were very helpful and nice.. Wouldn’t go there for any other reason
My grandmother was there a few weeks ago. ER to admission on floor much quicker (4 hours from 24 hours) but communication between doctors and patient still crap.
My family has had serious medical problems and Community has always given us the best care with great outcomes. Awesome nurses and Doctors and no complaints whatsoever.
The drs at CMC treated me for my appendicitis when Jersey Shore dismissed my claims. Also, while in for the appendicitis, they found my Kidney cancer from the same scans that the Drs at Jersey Shore missed.
My son was born there 21 years ago!
Bill Thomas yeah that is long because u have 2 yrs
Canned a surgeon after 33 years because she refused to do unnecessary procedures. Still havent reinstated her.
Place is a joke…
Sean Schneider
They will always suck for how they treated your mom!
Ocean County Scanner News the administrative process according to their by laws, should take 90 days for a “fair” hearing. December will be 2 years and they have yet to complete that process, leaving my mother in limbo.
The hospital and their administrators are a disgrace and joke. They only care about money, zero concern for patient care.
Every hospital has their share of casualties
1. If you don’t like the place, please go to a doctor instead of an ER for boo boos.
2. Better yet Emergency Rooms are for emergent health situations, not for aches and pains you have had for weeks and don’t want to go to work Monday.
3. Follow up as discharge instructions tell you.
4. I have worked in soo many hospitals and they all stink, why? Mostly because of the prior 3 reasons.
5. The place is not that bad, healthcare is broken. Can YOU fix it?
6. If you don’t like any of these things, call a Whaaambulance you big babies. I don’t care! Just stay out of CMC too.
Ex Raid sounds like you need the whaaaambulance. I think it’s clear we all do our best to stay out. Shame it sucks. But yes, healthcare is beyond broken which by the way.. partially causes your #1-3.
Been admitted here quite a few times. Really haven’t had any terrible experiences except for long wait times in the ER. The staff were great
I’ve never had an issue there. I have heard terrible things of course, but perhaps I have always gotten lucky. Drs and nurses were always very attentive and kind. Never a bad experience
That place sucks! My dad was there and I sat with him in ER all day and night, after I started complaining, the ran some test and after 14 hrs of sitting next to him they asked me to put on a mask. They said he had the flu and AFTER 14 hrs they didn’t want me exposed then all of a sudden he was rushed to a private room and treated like an alien. I had all 3 of my children in that hospital and thought it was a wonderful hospital now I’d suffer before I went there
Tina Kowaleski same here! Horrible place!
The absolute worst hospital!!
I was there for four days on iv antibiotics for a tick bite I felt well and wanted a shower and wash my hair and was told there wasn’t any shower room for patients and my room was across the hall from the supply room where staff gathered to talk, but must say the staff were great one nurse even cried when she had to tell me they ran out of one of my antibiotics …
Once I was really sick. I went there twice in two days. Told them I had chicken pox. I was 21 yrs old. Told me I had a virus. Went to brick. Diagnosed chicken pox. I almost died
Haven’t been there in a couple years cause last time went there with cellulitis from a piece of wood in my leg from being hit by a pallet. They x rayed gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. Two weeks later I had a piece of wood the size of a nail taken out of my leg and spent 6 days in brick hospital. So never again!!
I was there on August 17th, 2019. My BP dropped very low and suffered from chest pains. They verified immediately I was not in cardiac arrest and then I waited about 20 minutes for blood work in the waiting room. Not bad. Waited another 30 minutes for a ER room to become available. After that it took only 5 minutes to be seen by PA and Nurse for urine test and 20 minutes later for chest xrays. Everyone we encountered was polite and professional and even had a good bed side manner. If I had to rate it. I’d have to say I was satisfied. Peace. Feel free to contact me.
I was rushed there mid-miscarriage In 2009 by my husband . They were fine, caring .. since then my sis died there, I’d never go there by choice & wouldn’t recommend either.
Wait times in the ER is seriously bad. I don’t go there anymore. My husband has heart issues, we now go to Brick.
Community Death Center
How about letting an 86 woman bleeding from her head Gave her rag to hold on the cut and it took 3 hours before any doctor came to see her in the room no xrays, put 17 staples in her head sent her home. ?the hospital is a joke..
They saved my life. I caught an infection after my csection and three days later i ended up in the ER. My organ was starting to shut down as the blood wasn’t getting to it. I was actively dying and went into shock. The ER doctor and nurses worked fast and saved my life as i was crashing and my vitals were all over the place. I ended up in ICU for 6 days. With the medical team made of the surgeon, the hospital doc, gastro doc, infectious disease doc and my OBs. They came together with a treatment that saved my organs from having to be removed. I use to trash CMC as well…but that night, they saved my life and got me back to my newborn son.
Lindsay Byers don’t forget your brother and God❤️
Beth Huntley of course. But this was about my experience with the hospital lol
Lindsay Byers lol?
My grandson was a little over a year old brought him in er for bad headaches they said he was fine sent him home 3 days later he is having brain surgery for chiari malformation in chop and was there for 3 months we only bring him there know for small things and they now listen when we talk
I had issues with them in the past but after I was sent to Monmouth medical center for an induction and ended up with sepsis community medical center helped me after Monmouth’s mistakes soo can’t say anything bad
After my Mother in law passed away there we left emotionally drained. The next morning funeral home asked if we wanted any jewelry on her. When we said just what she has his face dropped and said she has nothing. Multiple trips to Community and nothing ever turned up!
Susan Brannick I’m sorry for your loss. Any time my Father went in there or Deborah Hospital he gave me his wedding band the moment he was admitted. I wore it on my thumb until he was released except the time he came home on hospice. Its such a shame that they can’t be trusted.
Judy Ann thank you. I believe in Karma so I hope they enjoy what they took
12/25/2018 – called ambulance for my mother for impacted colon because her home health agency was closed for the holiday. ER docs administered morphine, cleared the impaction and started a pancreas/cancer scare. Talked me into admitting her for testing to be sure. Her medical directive is clear on no treatment but since I care for her 24/7 I wanted to know. Over the next few days they liquid dieted her into diarrhea and kept her admitted until a regular BM. Ok, fair enough….but then tried to keep her for low potassium. She’s a dementia patient who just needs to be home. None of the tests they promised to confirm pancreas/cancer concerns were ever done. I denied further treatment and asked for immediate discharge after a stool passing. Nurse said doc was not available. I had to get a little unruly stating that I’d go home and get my own wheelchair and wheel her our and have home health remove the IV. All of a sudden I had the doc on the phone and it was the faster discharge I’ve ever seen. My Mom has Medicare and a supplemental policy and they had a few emptt beds. I really believe they were keeping her unnecessarily.
The aides suck! I came into my Mom’s room the morning I finally got her discharged. The lazy ass aide was outside of the bathroom leaving my mother, with dementia and IV pole to clean herself. Mom was not clean she’d the aide was too busy socializing and was going to let her get bsck in bed with shit all over her leg.
Judy Ann Not all the aides are like that. Can’t assume they are all like that off a bad experience with 1
so true
Julie Platt I don’t disagree with you but I have other examples of times where my Mom’s bottom got a cursory wipe and was going to be diapered back up when she was not clean and had c-diff.
Julie Platt I have years of experience with my Mother in this hospital and I’ve always had to wipe after the aides.
2019 experiences, people. Not 3 years ago. Not even 1 year ago. 2019.
One day early into hospital stay I watch the nurse cleaning my Mom’s bottom while on the toilet. The nurse had on several bracelets that were rubbing against the back side of the toilet seat. This was an isolation room due to c-diff history. No concern for sanitation.
Sitting diapers left in bathroom trash can in a usokation room for high risk c-diff patient
Doctor stopped my Mom’s pain meds for arthritis without discussing with me (DPOA) Doctor never spoke to me until conversation about discharge.
My son was born blue, he needed to be intubated and put on a vent, but instead they put him on CPAP and blew out both of his lungs. He had to be rushed to a higher level NICU with two chest tubes for an extra month in the hospital.
Hospital staff could use some training on dealing with dementia patients.
I lost my mom in 1978 do to an overdose of excessive iv fluid , I have never been back in that shithole again. Oh & btw I was becoming a nurse at the time & disgusting.anybody that takes anyone there needs to have their head examined !!
On overnight aide was assigned to my Mother but they never told me that assignment of an Aide means that discharge can not occur unless patient is without an aide for 24 hours.
Stopped going to CMC years ago! I now go to Brick.
I was just in there for ER and surgery. I thought they were timely, nice, and done a super job with everything. The staff face new everything I asked for and more.
I’ve always experienced excellent treatment at CMC but can’t abide the TV tuned to Fox News propaganda in waiting room for blood tests.
Helen E. Fitzsimmons
Throw a brick through the screen!
Helen E. Fitzsimmons I’m surprised. Most public places have the Clinton News Network on.
The hospital isn’t so bad. The ER is another story.
A few years ago l went to DR in the middle of the it for what I thought might be kidney stones. Left a urine specimen on the counter. A short while later they came in with test results……My specimen was still on the counter.
Ginger Lenart Oliszewski because they fill a small tube from the cup. they do not use the whole cup
Lisa Arendt It was in my site the entire time, finally did use my real specimen and the results were way different. (I am a nurse and very aware)
The $5 charge for parking each time you’re in and out over the course of a day is ridiculous. During 12/2018 stay security wouldn’t give voucher when I was in /out a few times a day but they did that in 2017.
Security is a joke. Anyone can walk right in.
They suck…. simple!!!
I work for RWJBARNABAS Healthcare system. Ideally, I stayed away from Community until recently. I was having abdominal pain, seriously thought it was something I ate, but my husband and sons insisted I go to the ER because we were leaving for Hawaii in 3 days. I begrudgingly went. The nurses in the ED were fabulous, the PA I saw was great, though he would not agree with me when I told him I had to be out of the hospital and to my sons high school graduation Friday then on the plane to Hawaii Saturday. Keep in mind, I only went to Community because I thought it was just gas. Turns out I needed emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction and a large incarcerated hernia, and a second hernia. My surgeon, my nurses, my PCA’s were phenomenal. I was so impressed with the staff there and my care. So no, I don’t think it’s comedy. I also know that there is new leadership for the ER, and things will improve more.
It would have been different for you if they thought you were there just chasing pain pills??♂️??♂️??♂️
Was there for brake in foot, urine specimen taken and sat on food tray while I was there, when I was discharged I said my urine is still sitting here, nurse picked it up and threw it in trash container
Comedy for sure…. A year ago I go to ER with a foot injury, my foot was triple its size, looked like Fred Flintstone…1) I’m told it’s not broken after X-ray and exam but I an told to follow up with an Ortho foot specialist for which they make sure to hand me a referral for … 2) I call said referred doctor for an appointment, and I find out that he’s a hand specialist…. 3) after I go to a foot specialist, I find out that my diagnosed non-broken foot is actually broken. I still have an open balance for that ER visit!!!!
Was there for surgery. All went well. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. After I went home, a week later I received a bill for the TV that was already on in the room when I got there after surgery. About $17 a day. Had no idea there was a charge for this. Company was really nice and wrote it off. Other than that everything was great.
They screwed up my sons appendix, after removing it, the put his intestinal tract in twisted creating 5 hernias ,he needed emergency surgery to untwist the intestinal tract.
They’ve almost killed me at least 4 times. I did notice some improvements in recent years. But then when RWJ got involved, they started even more nonsense. Like the outpatient check-in used to call radiology and see if they had time for an unscheduled test… I tried that recently and they gave me a “Central Booking” number and told me to go call them from the parking lot. Why the parking lot? Because I couldn’t even sit down there to do it because security now has roped off the registration waiting area seats. They actually have a bouncer sitting on a barstool guarding the chairs. What in the actual f*@k! So I went to the parking lot and sat in my car and after 15 minutes on hold they told me I could have my test in almost a month.
Only go there if you don’t care about dying. Most incompetent doctors I have ever seen. Doctors prescribed one med that would have severely harmed my daughter and one that could have literally killed her. This place needs to be closed down.
Doesn’t the hospital make enough money omg n there so greedy n now changing parking fee omg .Whats next ,Hans our menus to the patient n write ur order n charge you for the meal to !!!!
I died there *nods*
High infection rate. People check in- they don’t come out!
Yes They Do Come Out…..DEAD!
2019: took my cousin to ER with angioedema. She was treated with the appropriate medical standard of care. Her nurse was polite and explained treatment and procedures very well. He was a nice person.
I hear criticism of CMH. I personally have always experienced excellent services and efficient staff. It’s my go to hospital.
Debbie Kipikasha – May I suggest you make it your stay away from hospital before your “go to” hospital becomes your last stop hospital. Horrible place, I know, I worked there.
Lisa Russell Why Not Quit If It’s That Bad Or You Just Don’t Get A Shit…
Is it better than Shore Memorial aka Roach Motel?
Awful…went in for surgery computers in the or were broken techs were fixing them while I laid on the table freezing two nurses stood over me for a half hour waiting and complaining about their jobs.
Terrible
Was there a week ago Dr in er sucked.
My doctor called me and told me to tell the er Dr to put in for a consult, Came back in over an HR later to tell me he just put in for consult.
This Dr had the personality of a dead plant.
Never had an issue with cmc or soch…. kimball is a whole other story
I agree I had my son there 3 years ago and it was amazing.
Would never even go there for anything serious. They would probably kill me. Hate this hospital
nobody has had a good experience with that death trap in my family…… if im in an accident and its life or death.. take me to “Kimball” whatever it is now… because even with the extra time to get there…my chances of living are better
Well had a nurse I know on the outside telling me not to go with a specific surgeon as his infections rate is off the charts in the or
My question is this ? If all the nurses and other doctors are aware of this why he he still operating and when my husbands primary doctor found out we switched surgeons he was so pissed
It’s all a big racket
All about the almighty dollar they are all in it for the money ?
Linda M Levine every hospital has at least one of them
I was there last month and I had to go back in 24 hours I had to have surgery they should’ve kept me I wasn’t too happy that I just did it all at once
Mylie DonVera
Pulled my back out the Monday after Easter & went to the ER. They kept me for about 8 hours in pain trying alternatives to Oxy. Nothing worked. Finally gave me one & sent me home.
I was in agony but I don’t blame them, staff was nice & professional. Unfortunately in the world we live in they had to cover their ass to make sure I wasn’t a druggie
Had surgery there 4 weeks ago, the staff was caring and professional. I had a great experience.
the maternity ward is and always has been exceptional!!!
My Fiance was brought there on July 2nd because he fell off a ladder at work. He shattered his left wrist and his right foot was clearly hurt. After xrays they said his foot was Not broken. They tried to set his wrist as best as they could, he was discharged, while he was trying to get dressed the staff came into the room he was in telling him he needed to get out as they needed the room for another patient. Humm he try’s to stand up and falls, the staff replied with “Oh we did not know u had a Injured but let us give you a wheel chair ” they get a wheelchair just out side the curtain they made him get dressed by the nurses station. I took him to a Orthopedic the next day and he was scheduled for surgery as he needed 9 screws and a plate in his wrist along with 2 screws in his Tulis bone in his right foot. Humm foot not broken they said. Tell me if u can see the break.
I had also gone to the er for a kidney stone they wound up giving me Morphine which I have never had, I rarely ever take over the counter medication, I told them that. So they did give me a shot of morphine and quickly sent me on my way home, in that time I began to feel extremely sick, hands cramped up, I get home tag still on my wrist symptoms became worse where my family called 911, an ambulance took me back to CMC and they said that they had no record of me being there. EMS said here are her discharge papers and she still has her wrist bands on. They need educated and qualified people to work there they are killing people. In my opinion
Had our share of mishaps at CMC. Prefer OMC went there recently very professional and no one tried to escape with a IV.
Was there a few weeks ago overnight in the ER and then observation unit. I have nothing but good things to say for this facility. As a nurse, I give it multiple kudos.
Yeaaaa it’s a definite no from me. The amount of times they have put me in serious harm is terrifying(was the closest hospital at the time and was brought in via EMS). And they weren’t difficult issues, but were very serious . Like how can it be that 4 docs and radiology couldn’t come to an agreement as to weather I had a pulmonary embolism? That was clearly there. Most if not all of their doctors are awful. The mistakes and careless errors are inexcusable. I’ll only go there if it’s something an urgent care could handle but they are closed?
CMC is horrible! From the extensive wait times to see a Dr to the unprofessionalism of staff! It’s horrible! OMC is amazing! Treat you like you are there own family member and do everything they can to get you in ad fast as they can! Just incredible!
Horrible
All of our experiences there have been fine
It all started by asking me my gender at birth and my current gender… I should’ve known but required IV antibiotics. The Dr in the ER told the nurse to get me hooked up and submitted his order and advised me I needed to be admitted 2 hours later I was finally giving the IV but still had to wait about another hour for the bag of medication. Fell asleep, woke up to be transported to the room… 5 hours later and had not been given anymore antibiotics. Requested them, since that’s why I was there, and was advised it was Saturday and I had no orders so I’d have to wait for the doctor to arrive and that could be any time before noon. It was 5 am! Advised staff that if I did not have the antibiotics within 30 minutes I was leaving! Called my fiancé and told him to get there and was outta there in 35 minutes. I am 100% convinced that if I stayed there I would’ve died! If you need something other than narcan DO NOT go to community! It’s worth it to drive that little bit and go to Brick!!!
I hope they changed because in the passed , not too far in the past they terrible . Death hospital
great place to die
From what I’m told it is now a teaching hospital. Thankfully I haven’t been there in years but never had a problem there.
#1 Sent my hubby home with a supposed sprained arm; next day they called and said come back it’s broken. #2 They sent hubby home with their diagnosis of constipation; 2 days later he was admitted to a different hospital for a life threatening blockage; he almost died. #3 Told me it would be 20 hours before they could help my son who needed immediate medical help, we left and went to another hospital. I would NEVER go there unless I had no other option.
