State Troopers to Set Up Sobriety Checkpoint in Ocean County
West Trenton, N.J. – In an effort to make our roads safer and reduce crashes attributed to driving while under the influence, the New Jersey State Police will set up a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, August 17, in the Toms River Township, Ocean County area.
If you see someone you believe is posing a hazard because of poor driving behaviors, please dial #77 from a hands-free mobile device to contact the aggressive driver tip line and make a report. Be ready to give a description of the vehicle and occupants, a location and direction, and a license plate if possible.
Troopers will be looking for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs. If you plan on drinking, have a designated driver, arrange for transportation or stay where you are. It’s not worth the risk of hurting or killing yourself, a friend, a loved one, or innocent motorist.
It’s 2019. No excuse for driving under the influence

I think it should be done without a warning to public ?♀️
Dee Caputo let’s warn people so they take another way ?♀️
Hope they catch a few of there own who think they are above the law
Dee Caputo I believe it’s actually a law(as stupid as that sounds)that they have to put a warning out
Laura Michelle yes it is a law, but putting it on social media makes it worse and word gets around alot more and faster ?♀️
Colie Hayes Pypcznski I totally agree
Dee Caputo yeah but its not giving exact location
Dee Caputo
We aren’t a news page that shares the exact locations.
I personally feel like check points should be put up every weekend in the summer only because of the abundance of people that travel down here
I appreciate you Ocean County Scanner News lmao
Good
Way to announce it. … I am sure no one will bypass it …
In some states they have to announce dates and times….just not specific locations
