The Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and the Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little have announced that Margarita Diaz, age 44, of Manchester Township was identified as the victim of a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, August 7th 2019.

The homicide occurred at the Deer Chase Professional Park on Route 37 West, in Toms River Township. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s office Major Crime Unit and the Toms River Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation unite are actively investigating this homicide.

Prosecutor Billhimer expects to be able to release more information this week, as the investigation is still ongoing.

It was approximately 8:42pm when police were dispatched to 150 Route 37 West in Toms River. The dispatch was the result of a report of an assault at the Deer Chase Professional Park.

Police arrived on scene to find a female victim unresponsive . After lifesaving efforts by first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at Community Medical Center and the investigation became a homicide.
