As first reported by Lacey Township Scanner News, residents are complaining of overly brown water, dead fish/crabs and a over whelming smell of raw sewage. When our own OCSN14 went to grab some pictures, he said he was only able to stay in the area for a short time due to the smell.
While we do not have official statement on the nature of this smell or its origins, we would like to recommend people head the warning their noses try to issue them and not swim in the lagoons around Laurel Harbor while this smell and dead sea-life is present.

I drove the turnpike up that way for a week each in March, April and May of this year for work, and it was HORRIBLE, right around that exit. Definitely still an issue. Unbearable.

I am the person who went to this area , yes it stunk and it stunk bad, I was only able to stay out of the car for 3 to 4 minutes,the smell was that bad and the water was so Brown , if your in this area I DONT RECOMEND going in this area if you have any sort of breathing problems
Thomas McMurray Did you go down the road to where the dredging is going on? They are drying the spoils on an empty lot. Wonder if that’s where the stank is coming from. The dirty/silty water could certainly be from the operation.

There is water that runs through winding river park in toms river. There are a few little spots you can come up to when you go through the trail. Last time i was there the spot was beautiful and brown but still shiney from the sun. I went about a week ago and the same spot looks like chocolate milk. Im not kidding and it smells so bad

I am on one of the affected lagoons. I have been here for 40 years and have never seen anything like this. You can not even go out in back of your house. There are dead crabs floating. The EPA and State Police have been notified
Find the pipe and plug it up. Wherever the end is, when they have a huge backup, fine them for illegal discharge.
