A 72 year old man was struck by a Corvette and killed at approx 3:20 am
Reports say the 72 year old was crossing Rt88 at post road, when he was struck by the Passenger side front of the Corvette, hitting the windshield and landing in the grass area on the side of the road, medics rushed the pedestrian to JSMC where he has succumbed to his injuries.
The 44 year old driver of the Corvette tried to avoid the impact and was also injured in the crash, he was taken to Ocean Medical by EMS where he is being treated for minor leg injury and lacerations

Barbara Somes I’m pretty sure that time is wrong. It was around 10 PM. An alert went out at 10:38 PM to avoid the area.

Barbara Somes a lot of elderly people are very early risers. my grandpa is asleep by 6:30 every night up by 3-3:30 to go for his 4 mile walk every morning. it’s more common than you’d think!
Very sad but extremely hard to see people walking and bike riders after dark. You wonder why either of them were on the road that time of morning
Barbara Somes my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer’s, she would frequently get up in the middle of the night thinking it was daytime even though it was pitch black outside, the last midnight stroll she took was right into a blizzard and that was the end of that. So I’m just as concerned as you are regarding the time.
