SUMMER BBQ MEAL WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO AREA FAMILIES IN NEED
TOMS RIVER — A Need We Feed continues its mission of providing nourishing meals to those in need with its Summer BBQ, Tuseday July 30 at the Toms River Elks Lodge.
From 3 to 7 p.m., volunteers will prepare, assemble and prepare for delivery several hundred meals for distribution to area veterans, those in need, and Big Brother Big Sisters families.
The day is also a chance for camaraderie as Big Brothers Big Sisters families are invited for an activity day on the Elks site with fun, free activities such as spin art and more.
A Need We Feed, founded in response to Superstorm Sandy, has now grown to include: multiple seasonal meal deliveries to hundreds of Ocean County folks in need; afterschool meals to Seaside and Walnut Street elementary schools, a monthly family dinner night at Oceans Family Success Center; Easter basket and holiday toy distribution and outreach to local veterans and those with food insecurity.
