Angela Greco of Barnegat, provided police with false information when asked about the incident which happened on July 7th, 2019. Greco has been arrested and charged with obstructing the Administration of Law, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and two Township Ordinances for Leash Requirements. Greco ultimately surrendered the dogs to the Popcorn Park Zoo for quarantine.
On July 7 at approximately 2:13 p.m., Barnegat Police responded to a call for a dog attack at 169 Redwood Drive. Once on the scene, officers discovered that a woman was walking her dog in the area when two dogs assumed to be pit bulls emerged from between two mobile homes and attacked her dog.
Irresponsible dog owner!!! Sorry for all involved. So avoidable!
Sorry for everyone involved
Such a horrible tragedy and I agree that it was absolutely avoidable 🙁
IF the owner was smart. He or she could’ve guaranteed the dogs would not get put down. Warrants are just paper and dogs are easy to hide. At least he or she did the right thing
Scott Barnes she DID hide the dogs. When the police went to her house she lied to them. Now she is in jail and the dogs are in quarantine.
Marni Kociban oh well then. Sad thing is some damn judge is gunna have them killed
Scott Barnes all because she couldn’t control them
Angelica Cortinas if only an ANIMAL RESCUE could take the dogs……. nudge nudge…
Owner of pitbulls should be euthanized. Idiot caused this tragedy.
Maryellen Acocella – You are ignorant…
wrong, you dumb fuck. The owners of pitbulls should teach how not to be aggressive.
Meg DeStories well, you dumb fuck, because they didn’t, 3 dogs will die and 3 people were injured. Useless waste of air and a danger to society.
Valerie Palmer Jones oh God, I’m crushed. Lol
Have to agree, owner is at fault. Lying to police on top of it after they killed someone else’s family pet. Sad all around, but the owner should get the punishment for raising the dogs this way.
What Terry Stez said.
This is awful for everyone..I have a Rotty who is very good on a leash..he is very dog aggressive but when he is leashed he will not lunge or drag..what he does do though is plant himself like a cement statue..and since I have people in my neighborhood who walk there dogs without a lease..I can no longer walk my dog…I have had unleashed dogs approach mine and the owners think by yelling their dogs name the dog will stop running at us…it’s awful…because if anything happens..guess who’s fault it will be…the Rotty owner
Maria Perrotto Morieko I have EBT’s and a Plott who are all friendly but always leashed to go out. My neighbor has a Yorkie who runs at us and attacks them. Yorkie has been lucky so far but no dog belongs off leash unless they’re in a fenced yard and can’t get loose.
what a sad comment
Terry Stez Animals in general can be unpredictable. Unless she trained the dogs to kill then I disagree
Now, once again, dogs die because of neglectful owner. My prayers for the victims family. ?????
Smh wow what a pos! I have a pit and husky mix . This is the main reason why I don’t let my dog go around ppl . Lord knows what kind sick fucks there is out there !
Anyone that knows me knows when you are in my house and my dog wants to meet she will wait til I say ok !
Some owners with pits don’t know how to control their dog and wonder things like this happen !
It’s a terrible tragedy also
Aren’t these the 2 dogs missing from a few days ago? They fit the description.
Dorothy Candy yes, we have been looking for them since Sunday afternoon.
Marni Peterson Kociban so then will their lives be sparred. The story is vague.
I remember an incident in my old neighborhood. A pit bull owner was irresponsible and the dog was always getting out roaming around. One day he attacked a toy poodle killing it right in front of the owner who had her little baby on a leash in her own yard! Animal control was called numerous times about the pitfall and nothing was ever done…until this happened.
Laurie Anne I had to beat my budddlys pitbull off of him. He bit his arm and wouldnt let go even after multiple punches. I had to choke the dog for it to stop. Are all pitbulls bad no but they are extremely powerful. I hurt my knuckles on it’s face. There was blood from the floor to the ceiling. Now if i wasnt there Idk what Jon would have done. His whole forearm is a giant scar. John Knoeller
Brian Lucy OMG! You are lucky nothing tragic ended up happening to you! Glad you were there to help your friend! So scary. I didn’t see the incident on my block but did see the aftermath. It was so devastating.
Laurie Anne people under estimate these dogs. Years of breeding to make the most powerful working/ fighting dogs on the planet. My mom was almost attacked but Charlie fought off the pitbull thank god
Brian Lucy OMG! Glad she wasn’t harmed! Of course there will be people who say they are sweethearts which I am sure there are many. However it seems the breed is one of the most common offenders for attacks.
Laurie Anne not really no. I was animal control and all attacks I went on was NEVER a BULLY. Wiener dogs a few times, beagle, Golden and more. It’s not the breed. It’s the owners. All dogs bite and attack
Wendy Lee Mitchell what I meant by that is I am only reading about attacks by pit bulls.
Wendy Lee Mitchell that last sentence should be in all caps. ALL DOGS ARE CAPABLE OF BITING & ATTACKING!
Owners are 100% responsible for their dogs behavior. If u can’t control them 100% u shouldn’t own them!
Christine Pullin Owners are 100 percent responsible. I will say that I am reading about pit bull attacks more than other dogs. All dogs are capable of biting.
Christine Pullin Christine Pullin I have a lovely pit mix, not going to lie he’s sketchy as hell. Loves us, some people and loves loves loves dogs. I trust him with dogs then people. First time owning a dog and he was a rescue. But one thing I’m always on guard with him. He’s a good dog, way too protective and I can see what makes him uncomfortable. Leash walking, or in my car, you cannot get near him. At the vet w can’t be in the same room as his vet says kudjo comes out, lol. Without us there he’s goofy, and tail wags. Some people with dogs he allows them to pet him, but that is rare I allow it. I tell the people he’s great with dogs, people not so much. His dog friends he’s great with them and the owners. People selective otherwise. We slowly introduce him to people. We have an Aussie here, someone else’s dog. Super dog aggressive yes an Australian Shepherd. She will go after any dog including mine and the neighbors. Thank god she’s old and only has 5 teeth. She picked on him a lot. He would play, jump, go for walks, get attention she was there bullying him. He always cried, never went back at her. He should of nipped her to put her in his place but never did. She finally learned to accept him. Wasn’t fair for my dog being pinned up against a wall, 40 lb dog attacking a 90 lb dog. She only got him once with her few teeth. But she’s a bully. It’s a family friends dog that had no place to go. My dog not even once snapped at her or anything. I think my dog was a bait dog. Scars and he gets upset with dogs playing rough at a park. Many things about him that lead to me suspecting. Took a year to pet him on the head without shying back. He was surrendered in Philly in horrific condition. He had all this testing done too before being adopted out. Great dog but we watch him always. We avoid things because we’re responsible. If you search in Facebook brick patch top dog Simba, you will see Simba’s story. My point is ALL dogs attack. My best friend got a puppy from Puerto Rico only a 6 lb dog, she bought her in, knows my dog well, he loves my friend, they were instant friends, they play so nice. The nasty dog I call her I had to put her outside for a bit, she’s outside growling and wanting to come in. We know how to handle dogs, and not bad for first time owner. We had Simba 7 years now. Great great dog. Just have to know about them and know what sets them off. Hoodies on other then family freak him out. Arguing and loud people freak him out. He just barks. Police, mailmen and ups he hates and many other things too. Fireworks and thunder don’t bother him, think he lived outside. Once he knows you, he’s your best friend. He’s shady real shady. But again we know to be responsible with him. I think being a former animal control officer, going to school, learning about laws helped me as well. Going to school for vet assisting and tech made me learn and understand animals better too. But honesty my calls in animal control was owners being attacked by their own dogs. Never a dog vs dog. Oh wait yes one dog vs dog and that’s because both owners were morons. Same dog attacked neighbors dog 2 times (2nd time was a set up) the dog got the man’s arm first time, 2nd time the man’s sons arm. 2 non neutered males living next door to each other. Literally next door. Cost the dogs life and the dog was under a year. The man beat it both times with a metal hockey stick. I think I would attack someone too. Messed up situation. But all dogs will react. Many types of aggression they can act on. Sad
I feel so bad for all the dogs, the one lost an these two that now may have to be put down. All because of a irresponsible owner, and she could have prevented it too. If you can’t control your dog, an make it mind you without abusing it, then you shouldn’t own it. I have a hard headed, strong, but sweetest pit, will jump on you an try to fit you whole head in her mouth just to kiss an lick you to death, hell may even hand you her favorite toy to take home just for giving her belly rubs. But you control them, or don’t own them. Now these beautiful babies are going to pay the ultimate price for her stupidity
Heard both dogs came out with there paws up
I’m sure the dogs were treated like shit and the owners were scumbags but of course the Pits look bad yet again cause of bad owners
So sad. Poor puppies, all of them.
Christy DeStefano I agree, so sad for all the puppies and now pit bulls look bad again bc of an asshole owner.
I had to beat my budddlys pitbull off of him. He bit his arm and wouldnt let go even after multiple punches. I had to choke the dog for it to stop. Are all pitbulls bad no but they are extremely powerful. I hurt my knuckles on it’s face
Brian Lucy any dog can be classified as “extremely powerful”.
Jess Wilbert what other dogs have jaws as powerful as pit bulls? If you were there you would understand. That dog took more punches then any other dog could have handled and it didnt let go one bit. I had to put it in a head lock. Tell me what other dogs can withstand such damage
John Knoeller maybe you should show her a picture of your arm
Labrador Retriever
Doberman
German Shepherd
Rottweilers
You think a lab can take a dozen shots to the face?
Dobermans are deffinately strong
When you see someone screaming in fear blood everywhere kids crying you would sing a different tune. Hopefully you never have to experience such a thing
Jess Wilbert oh come on Jess… the meanest, most mistreated cockapoo on the planet is still going to have zero stopping power. Yes, all dogs can be aggressive and mean, but only certain dogs can murder a cocker spaniel in front of their owner while getting whaled on by grown men w steel pipes.
“The average bite strength turned out to be 269 pounds of pressure. The Rottweilers were the strongest and topped with 328 pounds of bite pressure. German Shepherds came in second with a 238 measured bite force, and the American Pit Bull Terrier came in third with 235 pounds of pressure.”
Here you go Brian Lucy , the other dogs with a MORE powerful bite than a pit.
Do you know anyone with any of those dogs? I have never seen any of those dogs outside of protecting livestock on farms. What dogs do they use for fighting?
Im not against pit bulls and we lied saying it was a wild dog so he didnt get put down but we need to stop pretending that they are not dangerous. People need to take accountability if they own a pitbull. Train them love them etc but my friends dog just snapped and was almost unstoppable.
My family has always had rottweilers, german shepherds and dobermans. My father in law has always owned German shepard’s and pitbulls, now owns a kangal.
I agree 100% people should be held accountable for their own pets but the stigma towards pits is usually ignorant and downright disgusting considering, as I just posted for you, there are many other dogs that are FAR more powerful when it comes to bite.
My mouth was ripped open by a rottweiler (not ours) when I was 3 years old and I have the scar to prove it. Still dont fear dogs or any breed.
The 80s and 90s targeted rottweilers dobermans and German shepard’s, now its pitbulls.
Shayla Wardell I told a true story that I will never forget. If you were there and that dog snapped you would have died….
No I believe it Brian, and I’ll be the first one to say if you step in my house and anything were to happen then you do what you need to protect yourself because at the end of the day it’s an animal. A BIG problem is people take in a pitbull after owning a chihuahua and think they know how to raise a dog and that scares me, truly. These are animals with a pack mentality. If my dogs are eating, I can take anything I want from the bowl and they will give me no problem because that is MY food, I am the alpha and I’m allowing them to eat. Those toys are my toys, that bone is my bone. It literally makes me cringe when im at someones house and they say “oh he doesnt like that, dont touch his bowl” ? those are the people that dont need to own a dog.
And if this dog attacked you when you were three you wouldnt have a scar you would have a tombstone. Two grown men could barely fight him off.
Shayla Wardell you are smart and responsible but so was my buddy and his dog just snapped.
I get it, they’re animals and it definitely happens. Just a shame pits get a bad name when the owner should have their name plastered all over the internet for being completely irresponsible
Shayla Wardell my buddy wasn’t irresponsible.
Brian Lucy didnt say he was ??♀️
Brian Lucy
Laurie Anne not really no. I was animal control and all attacks I went on was NEVER a BULLY. Wiener dogs a few times, beagle, Golden and more. It’s not the breed. It’s the owners. All dogs bite and attack. I had to get a chi off of me attacking my hand.
Wendy Lee Mitchell I watched my boy get his arm destroyed what amount of damage did those dogs inflict? If i wasnt there who knows what would have happened. You dont understand how much blood there was. He had to get tons of staples and stitches. Not just a bite. It was over a few minutes of a dog yanking at his arm with its fangs plunged into his arm to the point that he was screaming in fear like a child. If that dog snapped on you it would have killed you unless you had others around. Thats the difference
Striking the dog in some case doesnt discourage a dog
The dogs had nothing to do with what happend it Was the way they were raised really, believe me the are good dogs unless they are trained to kill …sad
I feel bad for the family of the dog who was killed, of course, but also for the 2 dogs who had an irresponsible owner who put them in a losing situation in the way they were raised. Truly tragic! ?
Not fatal
How horrible for that dog’s owner to witness their dog being attacked and killed and not be able to do anything to help it. The strength in a pit bulls mouth and teeth is nearly impossible to break free of. Such a horrific story.
